    Hey guys,

I'm back at it with the camera again :D. Had a few of the new M16D's in so I thought I'd do a video review for those interested in the new Artemis rifles.

Unfortunately it was a bit gusty which did effect the accuracy results a little bit with the 40 yard group but even then it was pretty good.

PCP's still feel soulless to shoot to me though.

Nice review Dan as always. I need to make the time to pop up and see you at some point as you’re only up the road:)

Send us a PM if there's any time that you want to come visit and I'll make sure that I'm in as I'm out delivering sometimes. If you do come down (and I still have it) you've got to have a go at the double barrel Beeman. It's... different. :D:up:

In my opinion Ray in its price bracket it's near unbeatable, it's a ton lighter than a Rotex but it has a better shot count and a considerably better trigger although it isn't quite as pretty.

Although that being said I think my little XS19 is prettier than both! :D

Seems a good little offering this. Question is will Artemis (Chinese offering) surpass the more reputable makers? Are you listening Hermann, BSA and the like. Generally it would appear Artemis improve whilst others get worse.

Well the parts may be made in China but the design of the M16 family is actually British. If you take a look at one you'll see the Union Jack and "designed by SMK" on the side of the action.

Regarding them overtaking the big brands they're putting up a hell of a strong fight against them especially when you look at the specs of them. They also seem to be listening to our complaints about certain rifles and rectifying them as well which is always great to see.

Is the M16D readily available or is it just in small numbers atm?

Readily available mate. Any SMK stockist should be able to get one in.

Very good and comprehensive review, Dan. I'm surprised by the results from that rifle, although I'm not struck on its looks. That's obviously a personal thing and in the final analysis, looks don't affect accuracy. Seems like a great gun for the money - thanks for putting the link up to it.

    Hi danban.

    Yes mate there's the M16, M16A and the M16D.

The M16 is the standard model with an air cylinder instead of the buddy bottle and the M16A is the first buddy bottle variant with a slightly longer forend than the M16D I've got in the video.

The M16D has the shorter stock because unlike the M16A you can fill the D by unscrewing the bottle or by using a quick fill probe with the latter being the only way to fill the M16A.

They're a great rifle Baldalot and I'm sure that 40 yard group would be even tighter if it weren't so gusty... probably having a better shot on board wouldn't hurt either! :D

I sort of agree regarding the looks, for me I think it's the exposed bottle connection that stops it from looking classy but I do think there's a sort of workmanlike vibe with the M16D which I quite like. It reminds me a bit of a Rapid in some ways.

Thanks for watching the video mate :), I've got a P15 Compact lined up next but I've got to help the brother with a few chores this weekend so I can't get to it.

I'll be interested to see the P15 Compact review. I know someone who owns one and it will be good to know what you think of it.

Don't put your shooting abilities down, there's nothing wrong with them if you can put a group like that together at 40 yards, unrested and in gusty conditions. Some days, I'd be lucky to hit the side of that barn.
