1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

Even if this is just your own personal opinion, RESPECT YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS.'

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    A simple task.....

Decide to buy summat, save up like Billy O (as I am NOT working at the moment), get the inclination to order it, wait for the item to come into stock, Order the item (not cheap by the way), specifically request Next Day Delivery, await delivery (no show), contact the company only to be told "Oh we will dispatch it on Monday for a Tuesday delivery", Tuesday receive no confirmation of dispatch so I rings up "Oh its been collected, but the courier is delaying the delivery until Wednesday for some reason", Stay in ALL day awaiting delivery of said Order, get text confirmation if delivery time at lunchtime "We will be with you at 14.30 - 15 23 hrs", goods arrive, carefully open the case and unpack, clean up all the cr@p slarted all over it, plug it in to check it, find out that its not working correctly, contact the company who advised "Contact out Tech Engineer by email", contacted the Tech Engineer by email, find other things wrong with the item, send another e-mail to Tech Engineer....

and in the mean time.. I am becoming abso-fecking-lutely LIVID about the fact that the brand new item is not working right...

A phone call (out of hours to the company) and spoke to chappy with a very simple request...

"Please sort this fecking thing out IMMEDIATELY or get a fecking courier to collect it and gimme a FULL REFUND".

Gentlemen... I am BEYOND piddling about with other peoples and companies fecking inadequacies and incompetence.!!!!!

Would YOU buy a brand new car and realise that theres summat wrong with the engine before you even drove it.....ONLY to be told.. "Oh yes, your gonna have to change the crankshaft to get it to work right"....

Sorry for the rant ... but its what I think...

    Rucy!
Seriously though, we had the same with a Panasonic kettle. Yes, I know they make good sound and vision stuff, but the wife saw this brushed chrome, square section kettle with cool walls and had to have it. What a heap of junk it was too. The only place we could get one was that awful Very catalogue, so it was delivered and it wouldn't switch on. I duly ring the morons at Very only to be told to call the Panasonic technical help line. "What for?" I ask. " Well, they can check that you've set it up correctly! " "It's a bloody kettle, not a wireless surround system." After asking for their supervisor and explaining the basics of a plug and a switch, they relented and sent a replacement which then leaked all over the worktop. I only thank the law for the distance selling regulations!

I totally feel for you, it's all too common, and I' sick of hearing The Flu as an excuse for stuff which is clearly nothing to do with it - like crap customer service or being fobbed off. Just get the refund and start again, it's simply not worth the hassle and you have 14 days by the extended selling regs to reject it - so don't take any more crap from them and send it back at their expense as it's faulty.

I'm very much for people using PayPal or a credit card these days to give you a bit more cover, some sellers are really taking the urine.

No body cares when things go wrong :( I ordered a new Apple computer on 26th Jan online with CURRYS they couldn’t provide a VAT receipt so I had buy it through their business page and it all went down hill from there! Lie after lie after lie  No show of the computer so I cancelled the order and ordered one click and collect from my local Currys store and they sent me a VAT receipt  Upshot is I paid £1849 for the first one and 4 WEEKS LATER despite having never received the item they STILL HAVEN’T refunded my money!!!! I have sent a letter of complaint to their head office and got NO REPLY! Put in a dispute with Resolver and they have had no reply either,I have taken it up with Barclays and also complained to them about the time it is taking and “IF” found to be in my favour they will do a charge back!!! I said what do you mean IF!!!!!! I have no goods so they have in effect stolen £1849 from my account! ... as I say nobody cares about Complaints  and trying to complain to someone on the phone! I can’t even get a number to complain to ..aarghhhhhh :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
