1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    No it's a mix

There are 500 Hull Superfasts there that are going to a mate when lockdown is done as my new Blaser just don't seem to like them.

Then there are about 400 Hull Pro fibre which were what I switched over to initially when I got the Blaser but they are to pricey to keep using given the amount I shoot.

500 Hull comp x 21g that I keep for when I take non shooting mates out or for sim days. Also use them whenever I take the game gun out for a few practice Clay's as much nicer to putt 100 of these through it than a regular 28g clay cart.

Then there are about 450 Hull Pro Twenty that are for the missus 20g SP1

Lastly there are 1500 Fiocchi Fblack there which is my new cart of choice. Found they perform as well as the Pro Fibre of not slightly better at range as they pattern tighter (so I'm told) about £30 a thou cheaper than the pro fibres so whilst still not a cheap cartridge the saving covers a Saturday mornings Clay's.

MK2. My advice "for what it's worth" on cartridges assuming you are shooting clays is. Buy whatever is cheapest on that day at the clay ground and dont shy away from 21 gram. they will break clays. Good shooting.

Agree to a point but I think it's better to try a few different cartridges that are all readily available local and then stick with the one that felt best to shoot. For some this will be recoil and for other it will be the breaks they get (most likely a mix of the 2)

I found the Superfasts suddenly started chucking wedding levels of confetti when I got the Blaser and the breaks became a lot more chippy, especially at range. Best guess is the over bore of the barrels allowed the wad to start to break up in the barrels
Secondly i'd advise to go fibre wad as this gives you the flexibility to shoot at any ground without having to change cartridges for the day.

For me starting out I found sticking with one cartridge choice gave me consistency thus one less thing to worry about.

21g will do the job just as well, just be prepared for some friendly ribbing

I seemed to have amassed a selection of 12 gauge ammo over the past months too.
So far 250 Eley Select #7.5 (a present), 600 Eley Olympic blue #8 (my former go to), 500 Gamebore Evo #8 (over runs) and 1500 Fiocchi Fblu 7.5 (my current go to). All in 28 grams load.
I find the Fiocchi to be the best choice for me, high antimony content pellets in a sturdy hull at a decent price. £10/1000 dearer than the Olympic Blues but i prefer them in my Guerini Summit for the more distant targets.
As Petay says...Roll on Dec 2nd but i'm not holding my breath, it wouldn't surprise me if Bo-jo extends the lock-down into the new year.

Nice mix there. I'm trying a variety in my 12 ga at the moment. Next up is Clever T2. A bit pricey for amateur hour on the clays but hey, how many times do you live. Also keen on reloading for no other reason than it is enjoyable. I try to mix good components and then judge against factory. Funnily enough my reloads often perform more consistently than the factory stuff. Also I like to claim bragging rights with 'expensive' hulls I've picked up.....

Buy the F-Blu they're cheaper again slightly faster and both hold the same dense core at range, I used to shoot them. Mate swapped from f-black to F-Blu and didn't notice any change apart from cost.
The superfast were my go to cart when they first came out, shot many thousands of them over the years, I like them better than the fiocchi.
