1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    - Air wolf twice the price
+ Better regulator so slightly more accurate over the charge ( see pic. HW100 on left, two outliers)
+++ 325 more shots per charge
    - Not well suited for too far forward stud placement in stock so carrying with a sling ( especially with bipod in situ) not very well balanced.
    - Need to have high scope mounts due to high magazine

my advice Weihrauch much better value for money.

Know what your saying - and I have a HW100, however need never has anything to do with it :D If I hadn't just bought a S410 for a night set up I would be after wolf MCT.

So - after a few weeks what do you think you will do with it? Your keep the 100, right :)

    cheers

Yes, i have my bipod and NS50 permanently set up on it as the bipod sits too central on the air wolf and there is IR reflection flare from the bulky A&M silencer that spoils the view thru the Nitesite. The Daystate silencer was woefully loud compared to the Weihrauch or the A&M.

I have to agree, the HW100 is a quality gun and as much rifle as anybody needs, but for some reason I still enjoy owning my mk4is Daystate more. I have had two HW100's both excellent rifles with faultless mechanics and I would have another tomorrow, both the Daystate and Weihrauch are excellent rifles in their own ways.

I now own a Daystate Airwolf MCT Tactical in .22 and up to last week I had a modified FT HW100 in .177 with Rowan trigger, custom stock and all the bits and bobs. Both shoot full mags under a 1p at 35 yards as you would expect. My YouTube video shows the HW doing this in wind.

I think my DS has the edge for hunting though which I tend to do more of and I like the trigger. 350ish shots per charge is useful versus about 70. No more bottle in the boot for a long nights hunting and the MCT means I can be confident that the pellets are leaving at the same velocity each time.

If I could have afforded to keep both I would have kept the HW for range and DS for hunting. Is the DS worth nearly twice the price of the 100 ? Yes I think so. It's a different animal altogether in my opinion and it is just my opinion having owned both recently. Pete :D:up:

I've owned both HW100 (.177 & .22) & Airwolf (FAC .22) in the last couple of months with both being excellent rifles although the HW100 in .22 sub 12ft lbs needed quite a bit of hold over at hunting ranges in excess of 30 yards so if I was to get another HW100 it would need to be .177.

Have you tried the bottle clamp bipod mount rather than the stock swivel as the bipod sits a lot further forward and balances the rifle better?

No i haven't but will look into it, cheers.
Just gave the airwolf it's first full charge. "F" me, all i can say, it's good exercise with a pump rather than bottle fill. My 21 yr old son couldn't even do it. The trick was to put 15 stone onto the down stroke;-)

Just bought the dr bob clamp on ebay. Cheers again. To be honest though i did want a good excuse to continue to use my Hw100 as i feel very loyal to it. With the harris bipod attached i use it solely for NV shoots. I have been carrying the airwolf barrel downwards as it balanced better on my shoulder but as it is quite lengthy the silencer would get wet on long grass etc

Glad you got the bottle clamp sorted, you'll notice it makes a big difference. I've got the 500cc bottle fitted to mine which make it quite heavy so I did carry mine with the barrel down as well until I fitted the bottle clamp but now it sits well barrel up.

HI Westphalian, I have a air ranger it heavy to carry, but balance perfect when you hold to shoot it, I do carry mine with the barrel down as well , but the secrit is get the shroud shortend , and its 100 time better, and try and get a swop your 500cc bottle for a 400cc bottel it will be a diffret gun to hold and shoot , i allways try to rest on a post or wall its much easyer, but first buy some cloth camo tape and stick it on the bottom of your gun and a bit of bike tube over the silencer all that pretects stop scraches ets,the air wolf is the roll royce of guns, you will defnataly get better groups than that with your wolfe, its finding the right pellet for it ,hope this helps border.

Thanks border. I tried half a dozen pellets and AA field came out on top. I would blame my shooting rather than the gun or the pellet.
    Both rifles are .22
