1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Hi,
I am slightly affected by a problem. This problem is compulsive air rifle buying :) I just can't stop buying air rifles. I like using new and different air rifles and mixing up my set ups.

I'm looking into night vision as my next step.
    But my question is,

what air rifle/s should everyone always experience using just because they should?

I always think people should try fx2000 or variant and ripley hogan elites as they aren't the most known guns but I think they are hidden gems.

Westlake B2, feel the joy when you hit the target (like barn door, side of house or in the wife's case own backside)...

Feinwerkbau Sport 127, preferably lightly fettled.

Nice, light, almost effortless to shoot accurately...

Theoben Fenman, assuming you can find one with a nice trigger (there are some out there :) )

    Airmasters HW77 FTS - awesomeness :)

Park RH93, for no other reason that to stand back in awe at the twin opposing piston/motorbike chain recoilless action :D

Sharp Ace or Inova - everyone tried putting more pumps in at least once, trying to up the power  and aside from the quirky cocking their accuracy was/is incredible.

I never gave the feinwerkbau brand a second look over the years but when I took my daughter to the range they loaned her a Fwb 127 I tried it and I was very impressed. Leagues ahead of the webley Vulcan I was shooting back in the day.

Wiscombe, JW50 - spring piston powered with the recoil of a PCP.....unbelievable.Just don't worry about the price. They will be £10,000 when John has died!

    On a more normal base:
Theoben SLR - the original, hand built 88 or the reincarnation 98. A bit big and heavy for some shooters, but the engineering is wonderful.
    Dave Hall tuned HW77
    FW300Daystate Wolverine 303
A properly put together high powered Theoben Rapid.

When I went to an airgun dealer here in Sweden to look at Theoben, Air Arms, etc.. he showed me the FX Independence, I tried it out.. bought it.. it puts a grin on my face each time I take it out and use it.. time after time, it hits the target, it feels solid and reliable, the cocking action is smooth, and I also like the way it's so easy to tune.. I set it to 10 Joules for shooting in Sweden, go to another country without power restrictions and I can get 40 Joules from it, all it takes is about 20 minutes or so to tune it up...

    Wiscombe - fantastic engineering.
TX200 - the standard for every springer to aim for out of the box.
    97/77 fully venom / V-mach tuned - silky
S400 - great value. What that money can really get you.
B2 - what cheap often is - ie nasty.
Sirocco - got to try a ram.
Carbined Crosman 600 - best way to destroy cans etc ever.

Should have paid more attention to what the rifle was I had a go of today. It was a .177 PCP that the club gun smith was showing off. I hit the bell 3 out of 4 times as it was getting passed around a bit. I can barely ever hit the bell on our small range with my .22 rifles to my eternal shame.

Should try them all! they all shoot that little different, I am the same as you buy loads try loads. My DSmk4 is by far the best thing I have ever owned but most enjoyable would definitely be HW77 or an old BSA Air sporter. Springer's definitely bring the shooter in me I love to use a springer. PCP is just to easy.

One of them Phoenix jobs (can't remember the maker) but the air-tube is in the stock. I think the Ripley is probably the best rifle I have ever owned and shot to this day.

That's the one. I am on the lookout for a new rifle so I could be tempted. Cheers for that.
