1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Is the AT there just to pacify the powers that be? Does it’s inclusion keep the wolf from the door so to speak? If so, leave it in... can always be worked round if needed. Bit of a pain, but do-able.

Last quarter seems a way off, but if it means AA are doing all the field testing and development as opposed to what some manufacturers do and let us finish it off by discovering all the little faults and niggles for them, then that’s a good thing.

    Looks nice so far...

They're not going to cut down pistol grip for HFT they are just going to add a 2" spike to the butthook so you can stick it in the ground. Its real hard to keep the gun still just resting hook on ground normally :D

Cant see the Hamster changing, its part of the design.
Pistol grip is 150mm, with out palm shelf.
Quick adjuster on butt hook is very good for adjusting between steep high or low shots, id leave it on as its handy and works well.
Just leave the Bubble windicator under the cylinder out of use? Is there a need to cover in Hft if its not in use?
Cheekpiece is flat/Square, prefer the scalloped cheek piece myself. Post adjusts down, but I think a short post may be on the cards for future Hft / general plinking use.
Cant see the stock / hamster design changing much. Its superb in use and very steady on hold, even on x80!

I don't shoot Hft very often so not up on current rules, but I think this Ft version could be used for hft with some twiddling.
there should be a specific Hft version at some point, depends on how long one is willing to wait.

For UKAHFT the bottom of the hamster can be a max of 150mm below the barrel and cannot be adjusted on course.

UKAHFT have a paddle length restriction on the butt hook, the one shown in the video isn't legal.

    Pistol grip legal paul?

I’m assuming the hook can be easily sorted by removing bottom part ?

Yes mate, as long as it isn't touching the ground during a prone shot. :thumb:

I don't know the answer to that. :)

I do think the stock needs a re-design for HFT. We can't adjust the hamster in a comp so the current one is not necessary.

The pistol grip may be OK without the palm shelf but with it it is too long IMO.

The butt hook quick adjuster on the butt hook isn't necessary for HFT as we can't adjust it on a course. It see.seems the extra Arms are removable so the hook looks very good for HFT.

The windicator can be used on competition but the level can't - hence my suggestion of a cover.

The front could be slimmed to reduce the overall weight. - We HFT shooters prefer lighter rifles than FT shooters.

IIRC Steve it was mentioned somewhere there would be an option of action only, that action in a custom stock would make a cracking tool for HFT.

I would be very surprised if AA gave an action only option. They've never offered this AFAIK I can't see them doing so for this one given all the work/cost that that has gone into the stock.

There's some compromises with Steyr Challenge out of the box (i.e. unfloated barrel, no thumb up option, crap hamster) that the XTI50 out of the box addresses.

I've too much to learn about FT this season to even think about changing my Steyr, the following season the Steyr will have gone. The choice between the two is easy IMO.

I have to say given some research a 9015 is clear favourite for me this year.
I like the fact that I can get a Ratworks converted 12fpe rifle that's already been set up and tweaked. For me the choice of stocks fit for my purpose also seals the deal.
A Steyr stock would go straight up for sale and I can see a big pile of metal being pulled off the AA. That's just money down the drain. If the AA was released earlier at a fair price I would have to check one out. But logically a RW 9015 is the one.

Impossible to know what's best for you until you've shot them both against the XTI50, if you need to buy now that's a different discussion for a different thread. :thumb:
