1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I had this rifle many moons ago, there were two models based on the M-16 assault rifle, black plastic stock, mine was the model without the pellet feed tube over the barrel,it had a side lever cocking lever action with a tap type loading port on top of the cylinder, I'd really like to get my hands on a good second hand one if there's one out there??:violent4:in .22 caliber,, yeah! mine was the firepower! great rifle:rolleyes:

I'm sure the jackal was a little shorter in barrel length  to the FIREPOWER that I owned, it'd be around 22,yrs ago thinking back now that I had mine, would love to get hold of another if they're out there:)

The rifle in the picture looks to be a dfferent model compared to the model I had from what I remember, although they do look very similar, the rear sight position on the model I owned was towards the rear of the rifle, further back than the mid way mounted sight on this model, also, and I just can't put my finger on it, there was also something different to the fore end of the stock design with the one I had??, never the less a contender,Andy, where was this rifle advertised ? could you point me to it's advertisement location?

Hi there, that isn't a sight mounted midway that you see, that is the clip that holds the feed tube into the loading port, the rear sight does indeed go right at the back like you remember, there is just a screw head visibe in the pic where it goes, some people used the rear sight to mount some knd of scope stop, the jackal, and the later firepower were identical part from some detail changes, the front and rear sights were improved, the early ones had a piece of metal wrapped around the front end of the narrel with the adjustable pin sight block in it, and the screw holes were filled with weld n the sides, the side lever catch was a round button type and there was no feed tube.

the firepower is the one pictured it has the improved cast metal non adjustable front sight, the side lever has a better pivot type button on it which doesn't fall off like the old round one could, the barrels are made by walther and are very good, the feed tupe held up to 35 pellets depending on the type you chose, and basicly was a hollow tube which laid along the rear end of the barrel and curved at the end which fed pellets into the breech one at a time, with the aid of a pellet trap arm which worked on a cam attached to the end of the tap shaft, it gave the front end a sort of AK47 look, but the re of the rifle looks like a cross between an M16 and an SLR, the feed tube was handy but could be fickle, causing many feed jams and cut in half pellets if you didnt get it just right, i still have one, and even though i use it, i still get feed jams when i forget to make sure the pellet has gone right in, or turn the tap twice my mistake which drops nother pellet on top of the first, but thats my fault not the rifles!! i hae had 3 of these, 1 jackal and 2 firepowers, i still have a firepower, andwould not part with it, in fact i am looking to get another at some stage, there were several variants in the beginning, the AR7 had the fake mag fitted and had an ultra short barrel with a flare on the end, and the much longer barrel version which just didn't look right, so they dropped those 2 and stayed with the firepower, the same acton was available in various wooden stock forms, and up untill recently Air arms still carried spares for the firepowr as i got the new feed tube etc from them, oh wel thats my blurb on this old post, if anyone has one they want shot of (forgive the pun) PM me especially if there is anyone in Canada who as one, cheers, CC
