1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Why would their be tariffs on a low traffic item like air rifles? VAT is another EU tax.

Let's hope your right but I guess there will be tarrifs on just about everything.

Plus I guess importing a gun from the EU will be frought with paperwork and custom checks.

    Only time will tell.

I think you need to look past the MSM for your main source of information.

    I will leave it there.

Our price in the original post was pre-price increase.
Stefan is right in saying that we are not currently dealing with Regael so that means no Zbroias or AGTs.
The price hike for the AGT pretty well killed them off. We also had more problems recently with Vulcans then we ever had, so we decided to not re-order until we believe they're sorted out. Uragans we have never had a problem with.

We were eagerly anticipating the release of the new Zbroia Kozaks, but unfortunately all of the first batch we had delivered had faults of either leaking or power issues. So they all went back and we will not re-order until we see there are no issues.

There is a lot of scare stories put about regarding tariffs, and we pay VAT whether it's from the EEC, or the rest of the world either at source of purchase, or levied on import.

There is no excuse for large price rises based on tariffs on air Rifles (and many other items if anyone cares to peruse the GOV website) - see link below

Other arms (for example, spring, air or gas guns and pistols, truncheons), excluding those of heading 9307 - Trade Tariff - GOV.UKCommodity code - 9304000000 - - Trade Tariff - GOV.UK (trade-tariff.service.gov.uk)

WTO Tariffs on Air Rifles as you can see are 3.2%, and currently, the VAT content doesn't come into, in terms of a change in price, as you either pay it to the European dealer, or the UK dealer, at the same rate, plus or minus a couple of percent.

As a business, you can't, and don't pay VAT twice, that's how VAT works.

    Debunked!

So basically you homed in one little factoid about VAT. Extrapolated and tried to make mileage out of it for no reason.

Maybe AGT just thought , “you know what , we’ve been running at this for a while and getting good results and good feedback so it’s time to increase our prices so we can expand , pay our staff more and put more into the future of the business”

Wow! Blue BSA, not your usual reasoned response

Perhaps the AGT thread should be dropped, as it obviously offending.

Chill man..... it’s just a discussion.

Did I? - what is the factoid? so I can understand what in your opinion was extrapolated.

I thought I was agreeing with you, MSM give you loads of crap without facts on tariffs.

I've just given a GOV link to show tariffs on air rifles imported from any country outside the EU, without a current EU trade deal.

Bottom line, Tariffs make little difference (+2.3%), VAT makes no difference, as it's always been there, and will be for the foreseeable.

No apology needed.... perhaps this Covid Lockdown crap is getting to us all, and making us all a bit edgy.

I’ve taken a fair amount of stick about pre checking AGT guns prior to sale. My take on the matter is, if AGT Members come to the shop to purchase a Vulcan or a Uragan...... I need to give the best possible gun that can be purchased, “Regardless how it comes out the Factory or from the Uk Distributor”.

Many have disagreed with this policy and intimated differently. The on cost is ours, not the purchaser.

All I can say is, the few guns we have sold to AGT MEMBERS, are the best that can be purchased and unless told so, the purchasers are very happy. Perhaps you should ask these guys!!!

So there you have it.... nothing in this life is perfect out the box (but you can make it as perfect as it can be)

i so want one but not parting with my dollar until they have proved they are pukka , i know some of the lads on here have them and are very very happy with them but the one i tested was real bad and i think that that is terrible for a gun at that price

A bit of insight and where you purchase is immaterial.

As far as I’m concerned, either the Vulcan of the Uragan (I have both) is possibly the most accurate and well built gun I’ve encountered.

I have many other guns.... all of which I love, but nothing quite matches the AGT.

My 40th Anniversary Edition Red Wolf hardly comes out of the bag....

Other rifles pale into insignificance by comparison.

However..... make you own mind up.

Just to give you a taste........ The Uragan Long (Special package)
