1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Shame it's not happening, however it was excellent of you to try and run it. It shows what an excellent guy and AGF member you are, and the failure of the event was out of your hands so no need to feel bad about it.

That's a big shame mate, but you and Matty made a brilliant go of it and that's what counts to the rest of us.

It may be possible to host the event at PARC in the future and I agree it would make a great venue. I know the committee will have good reasons for declining for 2015, but we could talk to them about 2016/17 so there's more time to plan?

    Neil.

Could any forum members help with the "external obstacles"?
For example H&S, I'm a qualified first aider and my weekend job is in the hospitals as a rappid responder.
Insurance etc? I'm sure BASC do weekend group insurance packages.
Or is it just something completely out of our hands?

The club will have its insurance anyway so it won't be that. I expect the members have had their say and are not happy for total strangers to come en-masse and use the facilities. Shame because there's not many clubs who can turn away a few hundred quid for a weekend.

    The Boinger Bash Site

After reading about the problems you lads were having I contacted Steve and offered him my place to use.
Steve thought it best to post some pictures on here to get your thoughts --- so here goes.

I'm still in the process of developing the site but have held three events here this year

I have erected a 6 meter by 23 meter long poly tunnel in case of heavy rain -

This also houses some of the shooting benches -

With a few more meters of bench outside -

For plinking targets I have about 120 spinners -

    A couple of bell targets (10mm and 20mm) -

The Quigley bucket at 75 yards, the bucket is 61mm by 61mm -

I only have six knockdown targets at present but I intend to have some face plates plasma cut over winter so I can make my own.

I take out £3 million cover shooting insurance for each event through the NFU and hire toilets in depending on how many folks are attending -

My place is one mile from the centre of england on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border at postcode CV13 6ET

A few AGF members (Tinbum/Trumpetier/Slinger/Transporter/Chris Allum etc etc) have attended the Boinger Bash here and they'll probably tell you more about the place.

I'm also happy for folks to have a campfire and I supply burning baskets and timber for this --- I also allow folks to bring their dogs as long as they control them and clean up after them.

    All the best Mick

well guys, micks gaff gets the vote from me for a distinct possibility. i think its a great offer/gesture, and as we've already found out - getting the venue is the hardest part of the equation.
its central, has great facilities, and is owned by a likeminded agf member ..... whats not to like ?
i suggest that all those who voiced interest in my original attempt for the meet, give their opinions asap, so that we may decide on a venue

also what is the big bench for ? is it a giant dining table
does look a nice spot though
p.s. im going to favour FM as ive wanted to go there for a while

A lot of the lads have attended Mick's place and I heard nothing but good feedback so he obviously has the land, setup and organisation on his side. In my experience the attendees want a HFT course more than most things. If there's a place for a course in Mick's plans I can just turn up and win without organising anything :)

I'm happy to build whatever facilities are needed and alter things around as required --- just take the range and campsite as blank canvases for whatever needs setting up.

    All the best Mick
