1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

6 mm steel instead of BB-bullet in pistol?

Salutations, fellow air power weapon aficionados!

I’ve recently acquired a KWC P226-S5 Metal GBB Pistol (6mm CO2 Blowback). Upon receiving this magnificent specimen I realized that, in my state of unbridled enthusiasm, I had procured the wrong weapon.

My intent was to buy the air gun KWC P22-S5 Metal Pistol for 4,5 mm rounded steel bullets. Instead I had acquired a soft-airgun.

Upon this realization I fell to my knees cursing the very soul of my parents for giving birth to the veritable full blood retardicon that is I. After a short period of utter despair, a plan was beginning to take place in my head. A plan that would solve all my problems.

Through the murkiest connection in the very underbelly of society I was able to get my hands on some 6 mm rounded steel bullets. Which leads me to my question to you experts:

What will happen if I use 6 mm rounded steel bullets in my softairgun?

    • Will the gun break/deteriorate when using these bullets?
    • How will the bullet effect accuracy?
    • How will it effect the power/speed of the bullet?
    • How will it effect the impact of the bullet?

The two aforementioned weapons seem very similar in there construction. Is it so crazy to believe that the BB-version would be able to fire steel bullets?

The power will be poor,as will the speed...Usual airsoft rounds are between 0.12g and 0.2g

Great post, welcome to the forum. Shakespear will be turning in his grave realising he could have used the phrase "veritable full blood retardicon that is I". What's the weather like over there at the moment.

When you consider that the weight difference between them will be enormous I think that you will be lucky if the pistol will spit them much futher than a few yards and on top of that they will probably be highly inaccurate. Pellet air pistols have rifled barrels, airsoft ones don't and its the rifling that leads to their accuracy. Airsoft ones also have a far, far lower power output than the legal limit of the pellet ones too. From what know also the pellet types are .22 or .177 mm. Airsoft on the other hand are usually a striaght 6mm.
Only way will be to test them and give another post to let us all know if it is a viable alternative.......
Next time read the ad description carefully and look out for the word airsoft. In your search wording include the word 'pellet' and that will get you closer to what you want. I also abhor the fact that the sellers and dealers lump the airsoft ones in with the pellet types and have now stopped using their sites because its too much trouble to look through them all when most you open to read more about it then tell you its a freekin airsoft toy!
Hope you have success, but seriously........airsoft

I am into 6mm - for IPAS and Practical

I have tried metal Balls - originally made for heavy duty combat rifles

    In my Pistols -

My KP-06 Pistol gives great Results outside with 30/2 Madbulls - Real Windy Days use .43 which are a metalic compound

Pistol is classed as Air Pistol as powered by CO2 - Only useable outside on Real Warm Day's ;)

Thank you for all the helpfull answers. Alas, I surrendered and put a plastic BB in my new gun. And as the youth of today say, "That **** is baaawwwsss as ****". The blowback is very nice and the plastic bullets explode like dum-dums from the sheer power as I shoot straight trough empty aluminium beer cans. Turns out this story had a good end, after all.

You should be able to use 6m aluminium bb's, they weigh about the same as a 4.5mm steel bb.

do you mean .43 balls same calibre as the paintball ones? I have a P99 and use rubber balls, interested in metallic compound.

No 6mm .43 originally made for Sniper rifles

I still have .43 Trainning CO2 Pistols - Power far lower and less accurate than 6mm

Great to hear that you are now happy with the outcome. From the sounds of your post it was far better than you expected from the plaggy ones so now just enjoy what the gun was designed for

On a side note, in the confusion they did supply you with a gun that is clear or brightly coloured didn't they??
Edit: just seen your location, forget the above.
    Cheers Andy
