90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Just curious of what choice there is on the barrel length for the Crosman C2240 pistol. Its a standard one at the moment with some mods done but I would like to retrofit a slightly longer barrel of around 12". Hopefully (I wish ) there might be one threaded to take the standard 1/2"unf moderator/ air stripper too.

If there is a possibility of either where do I get it from?

There are direct slip on silencers available for the 2240 or 1/2" unf adapters that slip straight over the barrel to accept anything 1/2" UNF, The adapters don't cost much either.

You can have the barrels cut to desired length, Gmac offer a cut and crown service at a decent price.

Hi Ped......De-tune....Yes, I know that and I always use my chrono at every stage of any modding I do if it is likely to affect the power.
 What I am seeking is a pistol that looks and performs as a 'one off' with nothing that resembles it being done before or is on offer at an affordable cost (in this country).
Eventually in a future project (already putting bits to one side) I am hoping to do another convert based on 2240/50 that incorporates a changeable stock (telescopic?), (Bullpup ?), a multi shot system incorporating a larger self contained power supply system of either CO2 or possibly HPA that is not a buddy bottle type.
Is it possible:confused:.......only by trying will that become known ;)
Retirement, in addition to old work skills provide me the time, tools and expertise, the only hold back being the financial aspect of it because the important parts will all be new. Patience will win in the end though.......:)

    Hi matey,
 Yep, I am buying the barrel from Gmac anyway but it looks like it will have to be the 14" and then be additionally threaded. That way it will fit comfortably into the old aluminium photographic case I modified and have used for years. Only shame with that barrel is that I will have to keep removing the moderator and is why I am also looking into the effectiveness of an air stripper to possibly shorten its overall length. The problem  is the quietness which my neighbours insist on!
Any idea if air strippers are that good?

Hi Ped....looking forward to them to see if we have like ideas........
I have now ordered the 14.5" barrel from Gmac and am also having it threaded for a silencer/stripper. Just waiting for the final costs before I pay.

 I have now found that with a squeeze the 14.5" barrel, even with an adapter fitted will still fit the case...........just! Only problem then is how to fit a threaded adapter without having to have the grub screws seen which will spoil the effect!
That is the way to go but first I have to locate a spare 2250 barrel I can send the supplier to be able to have the new one posted out to me......
Who said the Law is an ass? If ass the right word or did they mean something a bit further to the rear end;)
Whatever I will comply with the law to be safe............after all I have loads of time don't I?

Is there such a thing as a silencer/moderator that is fitted using a 7/16" unf thread? Or is that hoping for way too much?????????

Check my website for some ideas. www.ratbuster.co.uk

The AS2250 King Ratcatcher is rear fed and is easily converted to HPA using a 13ci tank.

Hi, Thanx for the info and I will certainly have a look at your website. However, one thing I do not want to happen is to be limited in movement by any buddy bottle type system where a bottle has to carried adding extra inconvenience, by a hose from the bottle to the rifle/pistol that restricts movement while lay it down to stalk or overcome obstacles. The first requirement is that it is fully self contained.
GMAC is the company I use for my parts anyway because they tend to be the fastest to deliver while others appear to wait for orders and payment prior to them beginning the manufacture of what was ordered. :)

gmac are first rate on service and good qualitya few pics of the ways you can hpa/co2 bulk fill that are self containedthe easiest is the king rat which is a just add adapter and tank and your donethe next easiest way is a hipac but additional valve screws must be fitted imho for safetyyou can also bulkfill a 22xx tube with co2 if you get a bulkfill valve front and filler but again additional valve fixings are required and you must ensure that the roll stamp on the tube doesn't get pressuriseda tank can be fitted to the front of the tube but this requires a fair bit of work and needs a new valve front and again better valve fixings

 Thats really nice but I wonder if I could somehow alter it so that the bottle is lowered until it fits into the skeleton stock aperture? I will now make notes for another future project and see what is available commercially then see what will have to be custom turned/manufactured.
Its a pity that someone has not made a stock that is a hollow metal one of the same shape as a standard sporter/tactical stock. I know that pressure is a reason which dictates the shape but surely in todays age of technical advance there must be some material that would be suitable?
Its the aesthetic part that gets to me because a bottle to me appears to be a clumsy addition which detracts from the 'streamlined' original design.
Ah well, now to have a look into my bits boxes to see what I have................Soon to bay another 2240 but may now have the King instead.........

I think this is as neat as you can get really for HPA, yes you could remove the stock completely and use pistol grips and a foot on the bottle ?

Don't get me wrong I am all for modding the hell out of a ratty but to be honest it sounds like a Gunpower Stealth would be more your bag ?

Hm, Problem with the Gunpower range that I dislike their designs and I would much prefer to stay true to my heavy dose of Crosmanitis partly because there is so many 'addicts' out there all with some very good ideas for modding, plus there are many parts already available for modding. I don't think any other weapon range has ever had so much going for it modding wise. The future....who knows, one day there may be a design that incroporates the items I prefer and that may well be a Crosman offering if they do listen to the likes and dislikes of its many customers.
The Scaramanger is very close though, apart from I would prefer to see the bottle a different shape more akin to a shallow coffin so the depth could be increased slightly and the width be reduced significantly to that of a standard type stock. Possible? Maybe, but that is the fun of research and trial and error.

Nothing stopping you from having a custom rear air tube made for a King Rat moving the bottle position down.

Then it is just a new stock problem.
