1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Ok folks I thought it best not to post details of this event on here until Grumps had his meeting as I didn't want to confuse things.

Details of this event have been posted for a fortnight on the B.B.S. but I have waited for the above reason before posting on here, so please don't think I'm playing favourites.

The 2013 Boinger Bash was featured in the October edition of Airgunner (page 40/41) if you'd like to check it out.

Hopefully I'll have more targets out this year, and Solware who are supporting us again are hoping to have both a Walther LGU and a new Feinwerbau Sport for us to test out. :)

    THE EVENT

The Spring Gun Gathering will be held on 7th/8th June 2014

This will just be a weekend of chatting about guns, shooting, eating, drinking and getting to meet folks off the various forums.

    THE PRICE

£20 including camping over the full weekend (3 nights or more if required)

Part of this payment is for me to insure on the field so that folks without their own shooting insurance can attend.

    THE VENUE

    Higham Fields Farm
    Higham Fields Lane,
    Higham on the hill,
    Nuneaton,
    Warwickshire.
    CV13 6ET

    HOW IT WORKS

As the payment system I sorted out with Mr Jim Tyler --- Lord of the Springs, worked so well last year I've decided to do the same again this year. :)

    1) Anybody who would like to attend simply sends a cheque for £20 made payable to M Furniss (me) to my work address above.
On the back of the cheque write your username, Forum, nearest postal town and the word "camping" if doing so.

    2) I hang on to the cheques until we reach the minimum break even point for portaloos, insurance etc before banking them.

    3) I will be scanning the cheques before banking them, so in the event of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, I can bank transfer your money back into your account.

    4) As cheques come in I will post your username/Forum/Postal town up on here with your cheques status ---received/Banked.

I have my local caterer mate, Krazy Kev booked for the Saturday to sell Burgers, Hot dogs, Pork and stuffing cobs, Tea and Coffee, plus, Horlicks, Ovaltine and Bengers for members from the Collectors section.

I will not be organising a licensed bar on site but as your cars will be accessible inside the site I suggest you bring your own.

For those camping I shall be building a bonfire again for the Saturday night.

Targets will be the same as last year with a load of Spinners, Bell targets and the Quigley Bucket out at 75 yards, and hopefully I'll be buying some Knockdowns and making a few more spinners.

If there are any questions please ask on this thread and I will answer them here to save repetition.

    Thank you once again Jim

    All the best Mick

Google maps says I'd need to walk for 36 hours to get there. I'd best be off!

Cheers for trying to gather a bit of support.

But it seems that just like last year we're not getting much interest from the AGF, it's a shame really as last year a few local lads were disappointed that they missed out after I threw the towel in on here.

    Cheers Grumps

As you know it's quite a task organising something like this and I realised if I'd posted on here while you were sorting your meet out I would have just confused everybody.

It would be great if a few more lads from the AGF could attend, last year there were a few folks who attended who like me are members of various forums including AGF and BB5.

I don't do the Lightside/Darkside bit, the only reason I'm not on here as often as I'd like to be is that my computer throws a six if I log on to the AGF but it's fine on my tablet. :)

The Boinger Bash is open to all and all are welcome as long as you have a springer.

    Hi Seakingfixer

Some folks without chequebooks send a postal order. ;)

For anyone shooting it's £20 to cover insurance and portaloos --- none shooting spouses get in free.

I don't charge for camping per night so your £20 payment means you can camp Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday night but I only take out NFU shooting insurance for folks on Friday,Saturday and Sunday.

The Boinger Bash is for springers only and hopefully there'll be quite a few nicely tuned springers there the same as last time --- last year we had springers tuned by Bowkett, Bigtoe, Venom and Wonkey Donkey and a few nicely home tuned guns.

Solware are supporting us again this year and are doing their best to get us some new Feinwerkbau sports and the new Walther LGU under lever to try out.

Where a outs are you on Anglesey? I went to a wedding in the Valley a couple of years ago.

Have to say collecting the monies didnt happen . Everyone just kept handing me money on sunday morning and i put it in an envelope and gave it to Ken ( we met King KEN off middle earth :D )Ken gave it to the landowner when she got back from her weekend away then she text me and said we are welcome back any time  Im self employed so will try to make this a holiday , Hmmmmm need a kick up the back side to get my 77 to welsh willy

You could actually show up without a gun and still have a good weekends shooting as folks bring that many guns with them. ;)

There's no problem with dogs if kept under control and folks clean up after them. :)

The field I'm holding the Bash in is 12 acres and we'll only be using about 4 of those for the range and campsite, so dogs can be walked round the other 8 acres.

Fair play to you Grumps, minimal organization is the way to go with these things and at the end of the day you can be happy in the knowledge that you organized it and all went well. :)

Unfortunately I have to pay out beforehand which is why I run this as a prepayment event, and as I’m just collecting the money to pay for the facilities, I get us insured cheaper as it’s a private event.

The number of cheques also gives me a fair indication of the number of folks who’ll be here on the day, I pass this info onto the caterers and they know what staff they need and what amount of food to prepare.

    All the best Mick

PS;- puter playing up again

It is a gathering in the Spring

Summer officially starts on June 21st. ;) :D

There seems to be a lot of interest in spring guns and tuning them at present and there's been the introduction of quite a few new springers recently.

The Spring Gun Gathering came about when folks were struggling to find somewhere to meet up last year to compare guns and camp out for the weekend.

My place is one mile from the centre of England and I had an empty grass field so I stepped in and organised and hosted the event and I'm happy to do this again this year.
