1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Hi All,
I have 5 1930's German Hitler Youth Gun Targets. Each is 4 inches square (approx 10cm square)
printed on reasonably thick old paper and look original. A WW2 Enthusiast remarked in all his years of collecting he had not seem them before so we assume they are rare. These were apparently found in an attic in the Czech Republic. Im guessing not many survived so would like some info about them if anyone has any? Also what are these worth?
The above info my be incorrect, its only what I been told.
    Thanks in advance.

Wow sorry nothing I can add but what an awesome thing to have! Would it be worth sending an email enquiry to one of the major museums? I’ve had some great help doing the same

I like those. Pity about the provenance and the swastika.
They're like tiny traditional painted Scheutzenfest targets.

Try the Historic Arms Resource Centre at Bisley, they have a wealth of info on stuff like this, there are some old German targets on the website but I have never seen any like these. Rifleman.org.uk is the website.

Edit....I have just checked the site and the below is a direct link to the targetry bit

Thanks all Guys. I’ll have a look at that site.
I’m thinking about spending and putting them in nice frame or
    Something.
Maybe not to hang up but to keep protected and keep out of sunlight for obvious reasons. Anyone got any other ideas? I think they are cool too.

Would be good if you could scan them in and upload the scans for others to repro them for their displays? Or even some individual close up pictures?

Also if you are going to frame them you can get an anti uv film to put inside the glass to stop them being destroyed. You tend to get the film from comic book supply shops

Just google various images of them and mess with editing tools on your pc.
Size them to the original, print off and job done.
This image was about 10 seconds on my phone, you can easily replicate them on your pc.

Very interesting. Thanks for the anti UV idea if I frame them.
All 5 seems quite a rare find then.
    Thanks

I’ll have a think about them. The wife doesn’t like anything including me these days. She doesn’t like the subject matter but it’s history. I need to have a word with my children not to use them if they find them.

Maybe look at; https://www.hermann-historica.de/en. they may tell you something. Just because someone has something similar up does not mean they will have a similar value. Often with antiques you can find you get a surprise. If you upload photos there may well be a flood of them appear on the market. Best of luck, I like medieval, this stuff is a bit fresh for me.

Hello. WW2 collector here. There are masses of fake 3rd Reich items out there & in my opinion, these may well fall into that area. There seem to be only 2 or 3 dealers that have ever sold these & they are not Third Reich specialists. (as above)

The Hitler Youth were awarded shooting badges & awards, based on scores & these targets have nowhere to record the shooters score or name, although if real, they might be for practice only or for fun use by the younger members. Unless they have an inked stamp on the back, my hunch as a collector is that they're probably repro

The only person who can tell you for sure if these are real is a specialist in Third Reich items. I have never seen these for sale at a specialist & there is no mention on the forums about them.

You could send some pics to this guy, who has a fair bit of HJ stuff & ask his opinion as I'm not 100% sure. The diamond with swastika in it looks the wrong shape too. https://www.malcolmwagner.co.uk/category/german/hitler-youth-related-items/
