1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

It's called the javelin, and it's said to be "Amazingly simple, revolutionary, and effective in overcoming many of the problems of standard Bipods, the Spartan Javelin represents a quantum leap forward in Bipod design."

    What do we think?

I believe in buying quality products and I think you get what you pay for but I think £225 for a bipod is a bit strong .but they will sell

Agreed, but as you say £225 is a lot of money.

Interesting you think they will sell, do you think they solve some problems with current bipods?

I use a bipod every time I go out and I dont think there is really any problems with current bipods ..the reason I think they will sell is simply lots of people have the attitude if its expensive it must be good and buy it atb

Think I will just stick with the £15 one, off the Bay, don't think it's worth the money, but some people with more money than sense will buy it. Will have to have an afternoon kip, and try and get rid of the negative mood I am in. Bfn. Bob.

Does it come with a laser guiding system :D

But seriously, you can buy a good hawke bipod for around £60 for the 6-9 version

A£225 bipod for an airgun seems excessive

I was thinking of getting a bipod for my new AA S400but don't have a clue as to which one to buy or how they fit. i don't think it will be one costing £225 though!
Anyone able to recommend a bipod I can buy at a reasonable price, and how are they secured to an S400?

You need a swivel stud fitted to the fore end of your stock mate. Look at Deben or Harris ones for quality although some cheap e...bay ones are supposed to be good.

i like the look of them and an instant fit would be advantageous but i am not sure of the price tag or the mounting part that stays on the rifle it looks like a large amount of stock damage to me compared to a stud what i do like is the fact that the sling stays in place rather than detaching it then fitting it to the bipod. think i will stick to the harris though atb gary.:)

I've ordered a pair of Deben swivel studs, only £3.69 the pair inc p&p. I then started thinking about whether a bipod is the answer to my needs. I have a couple of camera tripods ,one of which is a robust Manfrotto with an extending arm, and wondered whether I could use this.
Now all I need to do is make up, or obtain, an attachment which will connect the new swivel to the tripod plate which has the standard 1/4" screw.
Has anyone tried this already? Can anyone suggest what the fitting might look like?
    All suggestions welcome
    Dag

I would rather have a bipod that folds up for when on the move out hunting, plus with it being detachable its more changes to lose, drop or leave behind and that price is crazy! For that amount you could buy a second hand PCP with a bipod on it lol

I like the bipod, I reckon it has solved some problems bipods have.

Regarding price, if you want one right now you have to pay, if you can wait the prices will soon tumble as people imitate.

I like the idea that by buying several mounts and fitting them to your rifles then you only need one magnetic bipod, if you price up the cost of several decent bipods then £225 don't seem so expensive after all.

You're not wrong. I left the legs extended but folded up on mine in the dark with the night vision last week and couldn't believe how much heavier it felt when I had a scan around from standing.
