Wanted: Cheeky as hell question about IR Lasers.

Hi folks, in reference to this thread...

    http://www.airgunforum.co.uk/forums/...-question.html

    ...

I'm wondering how well it would actually perform, I'm wondering if in the new year i buy a charger for it on eGay (£10) would anyone be willing to let me borrow a IR laser that they have to try it out? I will pay return postage, I just dont want to fork out on a laser to find the camera i got for free to be rubbish as nv. If it works I'll splash out nd get one nd the bits..

So please, if your willing let me know and I will get a charger..

    Merry Christmas all.

    Jack..

For the price of the Odic force 200mw IR laser and batteries for it and a charger it's not worth paying postage just to borrow one. I've just bought one from the website and it totals just under £46 inc postage.

Jack there's a vid on YouTube that shows how to mod a green laser pointer into a ir laser just by removing the green spectrum crystal. Or get a torch not cree, halogen or krypton and use a floppy disc for a ir filter. That will give you ir light.

Jimsiss I noticed there was a 300-350mw one as well, but doesn't say suitable for handycam, but it also doesn't say it isn't suitable. Is the extra 150mw worth going for? Ill only be shooting 30-45 yards but want to record sp.guessed as much light would be better?

Even with a camera with 2lux minimum a 300mw laser will be to bright. Use a ir lamp for that distance. Or tape a lens ro the front if the ir laser.

Give the guy a call Jack, tell him what you want to use the laser for, he's very helpful ..................

ps I think you will find the 200 will work a treat, it's also listed as an 'illuminator' where as the other is not ..
I’ve just found what I was looking for, it was where I left it …

The charger in that link is only £7.50 and it has the batteries you need with it as the laser is supplied without the batteries.
