anything jap, dihatsu charade, honda civic, nissan micra, all these quite a lot about, that have been owned by the older generation,so not ragged daft, all very reliable also suzuki alto good luck, its a good time to buy, good idea to enquire at the big maindealers for old tradins, as the big dealers sell them off cheap, or send to auction to clear,

I picked up a 1996 'P' reg polo 1.4 with 7 months MOT 5 months tax for £200 , just had its MOT needed a new windscreen (bast**d discovery drivers and stones) and a couple of number plate lights all in inc test £180 so they are about if you look, your age is against you im afraid and for a 106/206 or a fiesta you're going to get hammered on insurance, look for something less than 1000cc and build up your NCB then you can go for a bigger car.

my brother in law is 29 and had one of those subraru impreza things which was all kevved up, all i know it was 380bhp and scared the life out of me when he took it for a spin, the only down side was his insurance cost nearly 12k for a year! surprisingly enough he only kept it for two months.

my mechanic always said you cant go wrong with a jap car, have a look at the little honda's, toyota etc, they may not be street credible but at least you have transport which is probably more than the morons who would mock you for not having a boy racers car, plus you're less likely to get your collar felt by the law.

good luck whatever you decide to get.

    If you have a vagina.

As above Jap cars. I had a 1990 micra. One previous owner (a 80 year old woman) nd was bomb proof. Had to replace the exhause system for it, from manifold to silencer, cost me £8 and fit it my self!

Stay away from french. Mate bought a 206 with 12 months m o t, head gasket went 6 weeks later. Their electronics are pants too.

Sent from my ATRIX, using the powers of my mind.

Another vote for jap cars. Very reliable and nice to drive normally.

If anyone wants a reliable car that handles well buy my accord
