To remove the stem/tophat is a very easy, quick and safe job that you can do it in less than a minute.
First fill your tank to 200bar(3000psi) then place the screw driver between the face of the valve and the bottom of the tophat and lever the stem tophat upwards in a circular motion around the tophat. It does not need any muscle or force. The stem it is sitting in the valve head(that is the plastic part of your valve that seals the air). There is nothing to worry about and no air can escape.Then to install the one piece stem tophat, all you to is push it in with your hand and it will sit in the valve head. To be sure it is all the way in the best thing to do is to put your tank on the gun and cock it and fire it 2 times. If the stem/tophat was not all the way in, after firing 2 time for sure it is in place and you are ready for to have lots of fan and no more problems with stems bending or tophats coming lose.
