Just a quick note to those who may be having trouble with servicing or repairs.

I have been having ongoing problems with one of my Umarex CO2 pistols, very low power, poor accuracy, wildly varying shot count etc. After hitting a number of brick walls in my quest to have it serviced and rectified, I contacted Simon Atkins at The Airgun Doctor. http://www.airgundoctor.co.uk/.

He patiently listened to my tales of woe, suggested a number of possible causes and their potential solutions and asked me exactly what it was that I wanted from the pistol. He agreed to take a look at it and I couriered the pistol down to him which arrived on 20th October.

On the 21st, I got a phone call from Simon explaining what he had found and what he had done to correct it and he gave me a full run down of how the pistol performed in the tests that he ran. He mailed the pistol back to me on Monday and I received it this morning (25th ).

I took the pistol out onto my range to give it a try out and was absolutely staggered at the transformation. Power was well up, the trigger was light and smooth as silk and the accuracy stunning. I shot card after card and the consistency was amazing, Simon had turned what was effectively a junker into a top performer.

It would not be fair for me to publish the prices he charged me but suffice to say including return shipping it was more than reasonable and truly worth every penny. I took the opportunity during our telephone conversations to pick his brains about various airgun subjects like regulating etc and his knowledge and expertise was immediately obvious. The thing I most liked was his ability to put the cases both for and against and he came across as a very even handed and enormously likeable bloke.

Should anyone require anything in the servicing or repair line, it is certainly worth giving Simon a call. i have nothing but the highest praise for his work and his customer service. He will certainly be getting more work from me.
