    Parkerization

Hi all can offer parkerization for your firearms now, its a simular process to hot salt bluing but instead of being sodium based in phosporous based. Its the standard finish used on all us military weapons, colt 45, m16 ect. Its a matt black finish very hard wearing and Im sure would suit you hunters out there down to the ground. You can parkerise anything you can blue pm me for detials.

    Hi,
Might be a bit general but what sort of cost would I be looking at if I simply posted you an average size air rifle and you parkerized it. I only ask as I have it on one rifle and wouldn't mind having it done to a couple of others if the price wasnt to heavy.

    Cheers
Thank You Gunsmith!.................................................. .....................................Sorry Bank Manager!

I have wondered if this will cover very slight rust marks/pitting. does it build on the surface.

Same as with hot salt bluing any pitting would need to be sanded out to be fully removed but as the surfaces are dipped in muric acid and then sand blasted prior to coating so yes we can remove rust and also a matt surface shows pitting less then a high polished surfaced will.

The treatment is a surface conversion treatment meaning it actually turns the surface to black iron oxide simular to bluing so it doesnt build as such. Not like a paint or plating that sit on top of the surface. Its actually a more effective finish then bluing.

Doug with the greatest of respect this is an advert for my bussiness if your not aware of the full facts can you please let me explain as your misinformation can cost me bussiness. I wont mislead people as it is just bad bussiness, any dishonesty will only come back to bite me in the ass when they talk about my services on the forums and I will get no repeat trade.

I quite enjoy our banter on the open forum but this a completely different situation.

I have a Anschutz 335 that I had wondered about getting Parkerized, it does have some very slight pitting and some strange ring marks, not sure what the ring marks are, either a fault in the bluing or the metal itself. They show up worse if you photograph them, otherwise you have to look for them.
Have you done anything yet you can show us as a sample

a few years ago i had some parts made at work for a hospital bed manufacturer, these were to be Parkerised, not knowing much about it except its a chemical metal treatment i sent in an old Diana Airrifle barrell and cylinder, a super job was done, my neighbour still has the rifle , used almost daily and is still 99% after 5 years - i would recommend, and best of luck to the OP, i would guess its a superior finish /treatment to traditional bluing.

    My thoughts anyway.

Might be interested in this too. Can it also be done to silencers ? I have a Theoben Evo Vortex that is metal. Can you pm a price with how long it would take?

As already asked, have you any pics of guns already done ?
