Practice on your breathing and get better control of it before you even look down a scope calm down and be patient that's what I do if you rush things expect your shots to be all over the place and another thing either use a bipod or a bean bag as a rest and find a comfortable position which feels right for you

Relax! If you drink a lot of coffee then try and go without, I know if I drink too many cups at work my shooting at the range is not so good. That said I have heard people say a cuppa helps steady them. Guess its a case of not over doing it. Try different stances and rifle grips. It can depend on the weight balance of the rifle, how far down the stock you should hold the gun with your front hand. That's how I find it anyway.

You need to look at your hold my friend, you say you shake but in what position?

Look on you tube for good shooting positions, 'stress positions' are common in shooters, have a look and take heed from some of the military and FT videos.

Wel it depends on what rifle, weight, breathing.
If you use a heavy rifle try to hold your left hand as close to the trigger guard as possible so you can tuck your left elbow against your body.
Most rifle's are nicely balanced and holding your hand close to the trigger guard reduces shake and your elbow against your body helps holding the gun up.

This works well for me, good luck
If you have an opinion about me....maybe your mistaken with some one who gives a sh1t!!!!

I think the Gun and balance of it must make a huge difference.. I have an R10 a Daystate and an old HW97 and My Mate has got a Hamerli ?? Something or other and the Hamerli is the only one I can hold almost perfectly steady ! .........................

I had a few shots with an R10 at the range, it had a much smaller scope than my AA S410 carbine, but was a fair bit heavier.
