Picked up one today from the local gunshop...
And its really not what i expected. To the extent i dont think it is even one?
Its about 7-1/2 inches long, has two milled bands on the exit end and is generally poorly made. the bluing is carp, the lathe work is 'average' at very best with shards of swarf on the inside of the endcap that just look like they are waiting to clip a pellet and the inside consists of plastic hair curlers with high density foam wrapped around...
the tollerance on the screw fitting is miles out and you can wobble it around 5mm until it butts up on the barrel. both the SAK and an older logun mated perfectly so its not the barrel.
now ive heard very good things about these, workmanship, all cnc and on par with the weihrauch but with alloy internals.
what ive got aint that
it didnt come in the box but apparently came off a hogun rifle (i was supposed to collect a new sealed ordered one) and the shop assure me its genuine? even phoning hogun to confirm the plastic internal tubing.
ive just compared it to the SEK it was to replace and its very marginally better, just about.
apparently the one i was after (metal internals) is only available proofed/fac but judging by the build quality i wouldn't be impressed eather way.
the one i have just looks very cheaply made, as in far east.
Anyone else notice the same, or have i got a duffer/the wrong mod?
i accepetd it simply because i needed a quieter mod for lamping, so could live with a few imperfection's but £40 for at best a 10% noise reduction over the SAK im not impressed remotley.
