Thumbs up A good read on shot placement for rats

I read this article earlier today, and I found it pretty interesting. The first third of the article deals with pellets and how they kill quarry, and the second two-thirds deals with the best shot placement for rats depending on whether you are shooting for the brain or the heart/lungs, the angle the shot is taken from, and which shots should not be taken. It is a well written article that focuses more on putting the pellet in the right place, as opposed to needing 45 ft. lbs. of power to kill a rat. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Very informative read have to admit. That guy has some interesting thoughts on hydraulic shot and temporary cavity. Just makes you think!

hello, i think most hunters of vermin or what ever try for clean kills but some times there is a miss shot, take rat shooting i often hit rats with a .177 and the pellet will go through the body and it will run off, a head shot is most a kill, but you always get runners same with a .22, now you might say shoot better, well at night, pitch black in barns, cold, cattle, using red torch, or n/v there will always be some shots not quite right.
