How long does rabbit keep for?

How long do people keep rabbit in the fridge for? I keep them in salt water in the fridge and eat them within 6 days or throw them away, what is ok assuming that they have been skinned, gutted and refrigerated straight away?

Treat it like a mix between fresh beef/lamb (4 days) & poultry (3 days) - so approx 4 days is totally safe if kept sealed in the bottom of the fridge; 5 if it's in a marinade (my favourite method.)

Any longer then it's ferret/dog/cat food IMO - others may disagree but I don't risk uncooked meat for great lengths of time unless frozen.

I would have said only 3 days. If I have to store any for longer than that, they get frozen.

    What he said.

Hmm, so half of what I keep them for then, lol.

Is it do with vacuum packing as I bought some mince with a sell by date of 7 days from when I bought it so assuming that its been transported that must be around 9 days at least. Why is rabbit different? If you keep it in salt water to prevent it airing does that make a difference?
