    Want your thread Stickied? *UPDATED*

Premium members can now have their sales threads stickied, which means that they will stay at the top of the forum without the need to bump. This gives Premium members an advantage, as their sales will be the most prominent.

Each Premium member can only have one thread stickied at any time, for a maximum of seven days. If it sold or withdrawn before the seven days are up, it will be turned back into a normal thread and ultimately moved to the graveyard.

We can only have eight sticky threads in the forum, so this is on a first come, first stickied basis. Also, this is a trial run. It may become a permanent feature, but it may be sent to the graveyard. It depends on it's success at raising funds to help pay for the forum.

    To the Premium members;
We hope you like the new feature, and thank you for supporting this site by donating some of your hard earned.

    To the non-Premium members;
Donate a quid to get your sale item stickied, which is very reasonable by anybody's standards. Plus you will have all the other benefits, such as unlimited access to the Arcade, the I-Spy feature, larger PM storage.... There is another thread which lists all the benefits here:

    How to leave sales feedback

Part 1 is for the first person who leaves feedback after a deal.

To leave feedback just click on the number after the word Sales Feedback under the users post count at the right side of a post (only shows in sales forums).

You will need to go to the thread for the sale that took place and copy the url from your browser address bar in to your pc memory, as you need this when filling in the feedback.

Or you can view the members profile page and leave feedback via the iTrader tab.

    Then here.

Part 2 is for returning feedback.

    Returning feedback
after someone has left you feedback.

When you get a PM (private message) saying someone has left you feedback, click the link in the PM then click the icon as shown in the picture bellow to return feedback.
    .
Or just go to your feedback page and click on the yellow note icon.

    Posting Air Guns

    Afternoon Chaps,

Had a couple of people ask me about posting guns, how to package them and how much it costs.

Well, For 3 to 5 days standard parcels postage that works out at £12 and for next day special delivery around £23 with the Royal Mail. When listing what the package contains I always state 'Sporting Goods' to avoid too much interest in them, despite the fact that it's perfectly legal, some people may react badly to handling a rifle at the post office. If the post office staff they do not carry airguns, you can remind them that they have to carry guns as ruled by Postcomm.

Postcomm ruled that Royal Mail must carry airguns.

Royal Mail must carry airguns via Special delivery or Standard parcels as long as they are properly packed and within the size limits.

Parcelforce is exempt from the ruling and do NOT have to carry airguns unless you are an account holder.

Size and Weight limits for Royal Mail special delivery. W=460mm D=460mm L=610mm Some post offices enforce the length 610mm limit and some don't.

Size and Weight limits for Royal Mail standard parcels.
You can send parcels up to 20kg in weight. Parcels must be no longer than 1.5 metres, and the combined length and girth of your item must not exceed 3m.

If you use any other service than Royal mail Special delivery or Standard parcels you may have problems claiming on insurance if they find out it was a gun.

Parcelforce do NOT knowingly carry guns, although owned by Royalmail they do not have to abide by the same rules. So if you send a gun by Parcelforce it will not be insured.

No courier company will knowingly carry guns, if you send a gun via courier it will not be insured and if they find out it's a gun they won't deliver it.

To package the guns I use the following

    • 1 or 2 medium sized cardboard boxes
    • Bubble wrap and / or shredded paper
    • Black bin liners
    • Loads of heavy duty tape
    • Tesco carrier bags (doesn't need to be Tesco's )

I start by packing the scope with paper or bubble wrap then cover it with a bag and tape down

Next I lay an opened out cardboard box and lay some paper in it, place the gun inside, I then fold the edges up and tape in place and fill tighty with more paper

I then get a 2nd box and fold this over the first and tape up tight

Once taped up nice and tight I place bin bags round for waterproofing and security, and tape the postage labels and the job is done

I hope this is of help to some of you guys

This is my own advice, not that of the forum, any action you take after reading this you do at your own risk.

(mods please move to where you feel this post is best placed)

    Beware of scammers

Do not send money to a first time poster, only buy if you can go and collect it and pay cash. If they make comments like the price will go up in an hour, they are trying to get you to buy quick and are very suspect.
Ask a mod to check for other accounts from the same ip addres.
Ask them for a photo of the gun with a peice of paper in the picture with your name on it, if they really have the gun then this should not be a problem.
If the gun is very cheap then don't send money, only buy if you can go and view.

    Using Paypal As Gift Service

When you pay someone via Paypal as gift, you have no protection. Paypal as gift means no goods should be exchanged, and as such, Paypal will not help you should anything go wrong, paypal gifts are completely non-refundable under any circumstance.
Sellers asking for Paypal as gift, you are also just as vulnerable as anyone paying you can issue a charge back if they send the funds via debit card, even after you have sent the goods they can still issue a charge back.
If you buy an airgun and pay via paypal you can not involve Paypal in any dispute as an airgun is a 'restricted' item in their eyes.
So be aware using Paypal as gift offers no protection for the buyer or seller!
