Beware of scammers

I personally wouldn't buy a gun unless its F2F its like buying a car you need to look at and check first. If I having to travel far my last one wa in Hull from West Mids I will insist on a non refundable deposit £40 this covers petrol/travelling costs. I've been out of pocket looking at various guns that don't match description or seller has decided not to sell or hasn't turned up!!!

I wouldnt buy without face to face.

I have done and learnt from it

If a seller pushes for paypal as a gift maybe you should question his intentions?

Paypal gives little /nmo protection anyway so also keep this in mind.

Face to face all the way!!

Blocking new accounts from selling for a fixed period would be a great idea. Also checking the sellers IP against other accounts before being given the selling priviledge?

I've done four deals on this forum so far.

1. For a rifle
2. Hawke Niteye
3. Tactical Vest
4. Bipod

Only two of these were face to face, all were great deals.

Also you can not sell on here unless you use your ISP's provided e-mail address (Traceable to a bill payer) or give your full name and postal address which is checked against the electrol roll amongst other things I'm not willing to discloses for the security of the site

Normally I would only do f2f as I am quite untrusting as I have been burnt by people in the past.... However had an excellent deal on here from Garrett3 which has restored my faith in mankind :-)

Guess you need to use you judgement when dealing with someone and if any part of the deal or person sounds slightly dodgy just walk away!

There are still a few Honest decent guys out there so don't tar them all with the same brush... That's what I have learnt however be very careful...

Most of the deals I have done on this site and others were posted and I have only been stung once and that was on B B S.............no surprise there!!!

I think that because you have to provide personal details on here now that it has deterred most of the scammers, It's a shame that other sites don't follow this example.

then you need to post them in the sales section. Provide serial numbers, photos and as much info as you can. Oh and please read the sales rules closely before posting. Good luck
