Another dead end... see below. And before you say "don't tell them then" that's fine until it goes wrong in some way and you have to disclose it... and if it's going to go wrong, it will for me

    "Dear Martin,

Thank you for contacting us via email.

Sorry for the inconvenience this issue may have caused you. Parcel Monkey will not accept air riffle. Please refer to our terms and conditions of carriage. Should you have other concerns, please let us know and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

    Kind regards,

    Maridette

Great advice - worked like a charm

I followed the Guvnors advice on packing and posting airguns to the letter and my transaction went as sweet as a nut , I was edgy about shipping an airgun , but the packaging advice at the top of this thread was spot on .

10/10 for a brilliant sticky and practical guide

    cheers

    Mick

Looking at the Parcelforce website today it only says S1 and S2 firearms are restricted - couldn't find any restriction on airguns, so I sent mine in innocence today - the young lady in the P.O. (yes it went parcelforce via them) didn't ask what was in it.

Ive used parcelforce 3 times now - thankfully theres been no issues , it helps that I am on friendly terms with my local post office and ive sent so many large packages over the years they dont bat an eyelid now.

Ive tried to use royal mail but they said the package ( air rifle ) was over the maximum length for next day special delivery

    Cool POSTAGE

I did exactly this, sent my kub Nottingham to egg in Scotland, by Parcel Force 500sqid insured, paid the extra for next day delivery, posted Friday morning, poor ol Egg didn't receive it till Tuesday morning.
so I complained, & got a full postage refund, bargain :-)
