    Hi
When I checked with the royal mail and parcelforce they said they would not except any airguns unless a legal account holder. Accoring to my knowledge
everything has to go through a registered firearms dealer which could cost up to £50 in charges. Unless you have a pistol to send it is probably better face to face or both parties meeting half way for the exchange. If anyone knows of a carrier that will except them please correct me.

    happy safe shooting

    International postage

Can anyone advise me about the best process of sending an airgun abroad, in this case to the USA ??

Do I use Parcelforce's International Service or FedEx?

Want to know how much posting will cost...

Here is a fantastic easy to use website that will show you the cheapest way to post your rifle (or anything else!)
Just type in size, weight, & destination and hover the pointer over the different options and the cost will be revealed along with insurance cover included.
Normally you will find Royal mail parcelforce is not as competetive....sorry any posties on here!

    Here's the link:-

    Courier Quote - Shipment Details

    Hope this is of use.

Its worth stating the obvious here and saying that if you are sending a gun away for servicing etc. then you can strip down the gun to only the parts required to save on cost

If its to have the barrel blued just send the barrel, If its for servicing they probably dont need the stock or sights etc. and in the case of match rifles you can remove all the barrel weights, front and rear sights and even the air cylinder if PCP but worth checking if they need it or not first.

I know alot of carriers wont take pressurised containers.

Just for everyone's info, if you are sending an air rifle, Royal Mail is the only way. They are the only legal carriers of firearams. If you send by another courier and something happens to the consignment, you will find you have no recourse to compensation. ROYAL MAIL is the only possible courier for the average user.
And remember, the safest route is via RMSD and the max length of the package is something like 665mm unless a tube is used, then its 900mm.
