It displays the name of whoever is reading it, regardless or not if they are selling anything. It is to get users attention as most just sell without taking a blind bit of notice of the warnings. Two users have already posted sales threads today and totally missed the notice.
It also displays my name when I look at the sales and I'm not selling anything.

I have now changed it to say

"(username) please read the rules before selling"

(Username) means it will display the name of whoever is reading the notice.

It does not show your name to other users on the forum, it just displays the name of the person reading the notice.

If Jack was reading it, then it would say "Jack please read the rules"
If Peter was reading it, then it would say "Peter please read the rules"

You still have people selling guns on other sites and on here they just use other names or make the ad a little diff have seen many i use the same name on all forums
