    Hello and help!

    Hi everyone bit of a noob when it comes to air rifles, but have used rifles in the past with the cadets got up to region marksmen.

    Anyway I am looking for an air rifle not to sure were to start really. looking to do some target and rabbit shooting. what best .177 or .22? spring, pump or gas? and finally can anyone recommend a gun for around 250-300 pounds?

    Yes, particularly with target rifles although there are still plenty out there.
    The oldest and best advice is to join a club, you will always be made welcome and the members will only be too pleased to advise depending on your requirements. Usually they will let you try their guns (even if they are right handers you will get the feel of a particular gun without having to buy it).
    Often club members have guns for sale, so you get to try before you buy, and they are less likely to try and sell you an unsuitable gun!
