    I blame the Interwebs

    Hey All,

ZZRDragon here and right off I just want to say its the Interwebs fault!

I accidentally came across my old BSA Meteor III when putting up the Christmas tree, I wasn't even aware it was in the house, I thought it was still in my Dad's shed. A quick look showed it was in need of some TLC! Lots and lots.

The Meteor was visible all over Christmas, sat in the corner of the kitchen quietly sobbing (I swear I could hear it)

Finally at New Year I gave it a good looking over and wondered if there was anything related to air rifles on the internet, although I was a daily shooter as a youngster for many years I hadn't actually picked up a gun for about 20+ years. Nine hours later I discovered I had been infected with the 'Nostalgic Reconditioning' bug.

I have to stop this Google business, I ended up on the classifieds here and nearly bought a Meteor MkVI !

Three days later I bought it. (Thanks Pughy!! < Great Bloke) The Missus will love her new air rifle, after I tell her and teach her to shoot.

So, I appear to be developing a Meteor fascination (just wait till I start on the old Diana Model 50), but entirely around restoration, tuning and efficiency. Expect a post on the project MkIII restoration (stock/internals/re-bluing) and its restoration/history/abuse, I've started the stock (even got a spare coming, damn more acquisitions). I may go to town on the MkVI later on using the new skills.

I don't get a lot of time, so it may be a while, but I do appear to have the springer bug.

    ZZR

welcome fella, i had an old meteor many many years ago, i sold it to my mate for a tenner, mind you it would struggle to shoot a pellet through a plant pot at 30 yrds.

but i was a kid then and things have changed a bit since then, i wish i would of kept it now as i could of restored it back to its original glory.
