    Theoben - Sirroco Countryman Carbine ~ .177 ~ Hunter 4 x 32 scope

Hi. This is my first post on this forum. I have loved air rifles since i was a kid, i got given this gun when i was in my early teens and since then i've spent much of my spare time out on the target range or hunting. This gun has had a hard life.. thousands upon thousands of shots through it & also i accidently fired the thing when it was cocked and that split the stock along the wrist clean off. I was young and drunk at the time lol. for years i put this gun away as a broken mess, the 4x36 pecar berlin scope i originally had one it was broken during the accident and i reluctantly sold it on for £120. When this broke i went out and brought a BSA lightning XL with a BSA 3-10x40 scope and thats been amazing but not quite the same as this. In my gun collection i have also a standard BSA lightning & a SMK B2, neither of which i admire as much as this theoben. So a few months ago i set about restoring this gun to the best of my ability. I spent days repairing and sanding down the stock, and i continually oil the stock to improve the finish. I then went and brought a big 3-12 x 50 scope and had a huge headache getting the thing on there. eventually i did after some home mods. i have a vid on the big scope version here

As cool as that scope was i could never zero the gun properly. I've since tried a simmons 3-9x40 & an old Nykron 4x40 scope both of which i also could not zero. Possibly my home mods have messed the scope alignment up for large objectives so I've had to settle on an old Hunter 4x32 scope that i've hand painted with heat proof enamel hehe & reshaped dents. I dont love the scope on it now but the gun does! with this little scope i can group 1-2 inches at 30 yards which im happy with for this gun. Its an old japanese Hunter image moving thing.. crosshair moves which is actually a great feature cuz it forces you to have a level sight through the lens. This gun seems to simply not agree with modern scopes or large objectives.

Well anyway thats an introduction to my gun collection. my theoben will always be a special gun to me & would like to know more about this gun &. I think it is a 1988 model but i'm not even 100% sure what this gun is to be honest lol Also can you refill the gas ram in it (its not full power anymore)? re bluing? One day i'd like to get it fully serviced/restored professionally... anyone know who could do that and for what price?

    Cheers - Rob

Awesome rifle ,i have 2 reccomendations . 1. Go to a gunsmith and check you have not bent the notoriously soft barrels of early Theobens , and 2 Dont sell it ....Especialy to the famouse forum member Accuspell .Hi simon .or you will ever lament the loss off such a fine piece of enginnering
Dailyi find i must add to the list of people who annoy me !

Looks like a countryman classic to me..cracking guns..but the piston head washers are often rotted now and need replacing..I had the Theoben Sirocco Grand Prix for many years..I replaced all the seals and re-lubed it..and it was shooting as good as new..Well worth having done
Patriotism is voluntary. It is a feeling of loyalty and allegiance that is the result of knowledge and belief. A patriot shows their their patriotism through their actions, by their choice.
