Bad news (SORTED NOW)

I have just recieved a phone call regarding my main permission.
Apparently, there have been a couple of people expressing concerns that a man has been walking around with a rifle, and that they feel uncomfortable with it. So he has asked me to not shoot on there anymore, as he doesn't want to get involved in all the politics.
I am gutted. That land is right on my doorstep, and most of it surrounds my own house. What I can't understand, is how it has taken them over 12 months of seeing me walk around with a gun before they became concerned. I don't get it.
I can still go on with the dogs, but I am not inclined to do that. The way I see it, if I just don't go on his land with the dogs, the rabbit population will boom again in 2 or 3 years, and he will ask me to go on with the gun again.
He said there are some parts of the land that I can still go on, because they are remote and I am unlikely to be spotted. Only problem with that is that I can't drive, and they are quite a trek away.

I still have other permissions, but if people complain to them as well,am I likely to lose them as well? I am feeling a bit uncertain regarding my shooting now.

I would do some damage limitation now with the others, ask if there has been any problems or complaints etc, explain the situation and show you wish to alay peoples fears and stigma's

Ah that sucks marco. Maby you could find out who has complained and then go and talk to them in a nice way to answer any questions they may have?
I think in light of recent events people have got very scitish about people with guns of any kind.

Im sorry to hear that marco ! Strikes me like you said why's it took 12 months to have an issue ? On the other hand tho i ont have a permission at all so you could be in a worse spot i would definatly think about what guvnor said seeing your other permissions about it and explain the situation if anything its peace of mind knowing ur next permission is ok with it all

I know exactly who one of the complainers are, and I have spoken to hiim many times over the last 12 months. He often asked if I have caught anything, and even asked to see them. I don't understand what the problem is. But that is only one of the 'couple' of complainers. I don't know who the other/s are.

Everybody on the South Walls part of the island do know me, and know that I have been shooting up here for 12 months without any issues. I think it might be stigma from what happened in Cumbria, and what Casualty portrayed us as. They have just become jittery without any cause. This is so unfair, as I have done nothing wrong, the farmer even said so.

I want a quad, and have been after one for a while. I just can't afford one. Would make my life so much easier though.

Word will be all round the island by now, and people will know that I can't go shooting there any more. I will be seeing one of the other farmers tomorrow, so will have a talk. My biggest concern is that the other land owners will think it is because I have done something wrong. If they think that, I am almost guarranteed to lose the rest as well.

I am seething right now.
