Nor here where I live...not so far from Orkney actually.
Where on earth do you buy guns ?
You have a gun shop on Orkney ? Must cost a fortune up there, expensive here on the mainland :-(
Same with electricians btw. My landlord rang me today to find out which part was replaced when he asked a company to come and work out why my heating wasn't working. They were here with 3 people for over 2 hours and charged 130 labour, fair enough. But also charged 102 for parts and never replaced any parts !!!! It turned out to be a wiring fault as the landlord had replaced a faulty thermostat to fix the fault and wired it wrong....

Thanks for all the replies lads. I spoke to Citizens Advice this morning who gave me Consumer Directs number. Spoke to a guy on there told him basically what I posted and the fact he didn't fix the fault. He told me to get a couple of quotes from other electricians and ask them if they would have charged if they never fixed the fault.
I don't mind paying the call out fee if its £50.00 but there's no way he's getting what he asked for. Oh and to rub salt in me wounds the Mrs told me in the half hour he was here he went off for 10 mins to buy a part. So actual time spent at my house was fkn 20 mins. I wish I was on £390 an hour He will be wearing that part in his arse if he ever comes back here again

Well I rang up yesterday and told the receptionist that the bill was not a reasonable figure for 20 mins work. She said there was a call out charge etc. I told her to send me a break down of the bill, call out and hourly rate. I then told her that on my invoice the engineer wrote, faulty appliance located causing power to trip off. I said the fault *had* not been found as my wife and I found it some 3 hours later after trying each downstairs plug to eliminate the problem. Her reply was that she just typed down what the engineer had written on his sheet. I told her I don't mind paying a call out fee but the bill was ludicrous! She said she would ring me back and as yet aint.
