    It's not my week :-(((((

Monday morning I was taking my newly acquired Webley Stingray II back to my local shop. The guy in the shop was well aware that I never even held a gun in my life and that I had problems with my wrists and back. I had no idea how guns work and what kind you can get. Nevertheless he sold me a break barrel springer. (I was desperate to shoot the rats that are stealing the food on my croft).

Nice gun, I was pleased, got home and found I couldn't break the barrel. When I managed I couldn't cock it and then getting the barrel to go back where it came from was nigh on impossible.

Ach, I thought to myself, you're a whimp, get on with. I gave it a go and enjoyed the 15 shots I managed over the next 6 day, then decided to take the gun back. (5 dead rats, 2 injured, 8 shots to zero the gun and a lot of wrist and back pain)

So here I am, Monday morning, in a shop with a 200+ gun less than 7 days old and in immaculate condition and the guy shrugs his shoulders and says "We don't give refunds."
He offers to keep the gun in the shop and sell it for me, never asks me how much I am willing to accept for it and goes on to offer me a co2 gun that is nearly as heavy as the Stingray. As it's "on order" he will ring me when the gun arrives. I tell him I want a Ratcatcher and he takes that idea to pieces. "Chines make bla bla, useless, bla bla". Needless to say I leave with my gun, that I would love to shoot but physically can't without ending up in pain, and in a bad mood.

At home I decide to put the gun up for sale on here (which I have done, still for sale as I type this) and look for a ratcatcher.

When I agree a price for a standard ratcatcher that is for sale on here I am pleased. Whilst out I use my mobile to send the money via paypal as the seller has sent me his paypal address.

Cool, I think to my self, when I get home I will order the steel breech etc. from GMAC and should be able to tinker with it by the end of the week.

So I get home, check my emails and find a message from the seller that says "Gun now sold, don't paypal me". WWHHHAAATTTT ??????

I had already paid. I reply and ask him to send me the gun...no reply. Hang on, we are only on Monday and I said it's not my WEEK.

Well, this morning I asked to have my money back but as I type this I still have no reply. Then I spot an advert for an already modded ratcatcher on here. So I offer the last bit of cash I have on that (haven't heard anything back yet).

Then I sit back and add up numbers and get angry and frustrated. I have a gun I can't use and paid for a gun that I won't get and now I am willing and able to pay for another gun.

I should have scraped together every penny I had and bought a BSA Ultra Multishot. It would have cost me 120 pounds more and made me a lot happier....

So now I wonder what on earth is going to happen next with me and guns. Maybe I should just get a local firm in to shoot the blighters....but I was hoping to turn it into a hobby as well because as a farmer I don't have time for hobbies, but shooting rats is classed as work...lol.

Somebody say something to cheer me up please. (Like: you can have my modded ratcatcher for under 100 quid...lol)

If its any help mate they have to refund you by law if you have been missold anything id tell the rfd to seriously think about the refund before you have trading standards keep a very watchful eye on his future dealings as will the police as it involves firearms of any sort ! He probably dont want the hassle and find he'll refund you !"

I don't think there is a proper gun shop in Thurso, I went to Dunnet for it.
The only guns I've seen in Thurso are in the fishing shop on the corner past where woolworth used to be (end of "town centre"), it's next to the local authority building. But they only sell those cheap makes, springers for 50 quid and co2 guns for 115.

I hope I get the money back from the ratcatcher I won't get, but the guy could just do a runner with the money....

And for the Stingray, somebody buy it please, it's a great gun !

As for the week, I just found that the wind has ripped my chicken fencing leaving me with 3 different breeding groups wondering around the field and cockerals fighting over hens, the posts I ordered to secure the fencing more are the wrong size (I rang and they told me they measure them including what goes in the ground, but he other ones I ordered few weeks ago are measured only what goes above the ground), so I don't have posts but 40mph wind.
The guy I buy straw off seems to be the only one in the county who makes small straw bales and I ran out of straw today and haven't been able to get hold of him for weeks.
My future breeding boar is sitting in his house shivering with no straw, so he got a duvet! I think he has a cold.
The waterproofing on the roof on my farrowing shed got ripped off by the wind and the sow inside is due to farrow soon.
And it's raining and raining and raining....

Wonna stick my head into the ground and wait for better days.... but no, have to check on the boar now, make sure the tyres are keeping the waterproofing on the roof and the sow dry, the cockerals aren't killing each other and the drinkers and feeders haven't all blown away again.

Well i hope things turn around for you ! I'm sure you will sell your gun, get your money back on the other one, wind will blow you some straw and fence poles over and the sun will shine .
    All the best...

You will get your money back on the Springer, firstly he miss sold you a product knowing you have a health problem which also could be seen as
Selling a weapon which by the nature of your back and wrist problem will cause either you or a third party injury. K98’s right, he will not want police knocking at the door and selling rifles under misleading advise will give them an open ticket.

The PayPal thing is easy, phone then now and report the problem, they will stop the funds.

    All the best

No, once you leave the shop nobody has to give you a refund. I bought a gun knowing I had health problems. He was willing to sell the gun for me or do a part exchange which means I will have to buy another gun off him, more expensive, and the last thing I want is give him more money.

Paypal does not allow the sale of guns, so they will not stop a transfer for goods if it's for a gun. To save the fees (being nice to the seller, grrrrr) I sent the money as a personal payment, which in no case is refundable. SO the money is gone if he doesn't send it me the same way back :-(((((
