Thumbs down Adjustable Parallax Scopes...? WHY NOT!?

Good morning all, a little rant for you.

Why do scope manufactures only ever use: 15/25/50/75/100/200/300/ YARDS.

Wheres the 20/30/35/40/45/55/60 ?? The Kind of ranges that an airgunner (allbeit, maybe not the 55/60yrds) actually needs and uses. Or am I missing something?

    Riddle me that!

    :-(

    Mark.

    On the expensive scopes....

Seriously though my Bushnell Elite 6500 has 10/15/20/30/40/50/75/100/200/300/∞ and is spot on for ranging.

    Cheers

Unfortunately I'm yet to find a scope, Hawke, Bushnell, Nikko Stirling etc etc that has 'true' range markings. There are so many variables in making a scope that they just won't be spot on ever. I always do my own if its an AO so I don't have any problems.

    Hi Ed,

Do you mean they are all off? You can adjust the objective lens to bring it into line, I've done it on the Simmons AETEC I had. It was way off when I got it, 20yds real money was at the 50 mark on the sidewheel. Adjusted the objective lens for 20=20 and the rest fell into place.

On my Elite though they are all bang on testing at known distances.

    Cheers

On my PCP is a cheap-ish but reasonable quality JSR and it is marked 15, 20, 30, 50, 75, 100

It seems to be quite accurate as far as focusing is concerned.

Mark, How are you getting on with the Nikko Stirling?

Indeed 25 yard mark really being something like 50 etc etc. They're never as perfect as I'd like

Love the scope mate, it's bang on. Except I cant keep it. I'll explain...

The scope is so long, it covers the breech on the HW97... I just about fit my thumb and finger in to insert the pellet. But most of the time im dropping the pellets into the breech and have to tilt rifle to get the pellet out. So I am on the hunt now for a smaller scope.
But my next scope will deffo have to have, more ranges marked on it. Altho I rarely shoot at more then 35yrds. Would just be nice to have.
