this is why they banned me-

You have been banned for the following reason:
Knowingly buying an air rifle of suspected FAC power, off ticket, in direct contravention of the Firearms act (said offence can carry a five year custodial sentence).
Date the ban will be lifted: Never

note the word 'suspected'.half of them on there are knowingly selling hot rifles but the mods do nothing,i spoke to the seller of the one i bought and he realised he had inputted the wrong pellet weight into his chrono.i checked and it was legal.didn't ban him for selling it though!

The first one I bought was tuned a few months back, and is brilliant to shoot. The second one is in bits in my garage, so also very legal now.

I have posted my complaint on the sale thread, so hopefully somebody will see he gets banned.

I thets other way round fort coroners mate, heavier pellet = lower ftlb

Pelllet on pellet at unlimited range regardless of conditions (yeah right)

Not according to the energy calculator at the top of this page.
    13.9 grains, at 665 fps is 13.65
    16 grains is 15.72
18.19 grains (Beeman Crow Magnum) is 17.87

Obviously, the heavier pellets won't travel quite as fast, but will still retain more energy down range.

Every gun will reach a peak with pellet weight then start to show lower ft/lbs the heavier you go.
My Daystate is around 11.3 with a 16 grain pellet, but only around 10ft/lbs with a Bisley magnum, saying that I think it has a lot to do with how tight the pellet fits in the barrel and all heavy weight pellets I have tried have been tight and showed low ft/lbs.

Honestly mate, try it general rule of thumb is that springers produce a higher reading with lighter pellets and precharge and gasrams produce higher readings with heavier pellets. Although the fit also has an effect as Andy pointed out

Does that mean that I have to test me rifle on, say Prometheus as they are probably the lightest, in order to know that my rifle is legal?

Nah,i don't think they read too high anyway. Worth a go if you got any out of interest its like putting a super heavy pellet in a pcp, gets to a point where it gets too heavy
