local dive shops i have found to be the best places to go they seem to be alot cheaper than gun shops, have you tried going to a local fire station most of them have fixed compressors for the breathing apperatus and alot of fire services offer additional services at negligable cost to supliment the brigade income, i work for a fire service and they would have been happy to fill mine but they would only fill a cylinder not just a rifle, and unfortunatly i dont have a cylinder just a hills stirup pump.

Stating @ £7.50 for 300 Bar is costing him money

    Time effort and equipment

Trouble is there are falling numbers willing and able to do it these Day's

So it can not be profitable or more would be offering Service

    BOB/R
yeah but the point is they charge members £3 but non members £6 . they offer no insentive to be a member , like a discount , free tea, coffee , free use of the range ( they even charge a fiver for that )

Don't care what anybody says. They are making big profits on that air.

Where we go, any BOTTLE, any SIZE, any BAR. £2.

Gun shops should do it for cheap, as a service. For the simple fact it brings shooters INTO their shop. One week they might just want a fill, next time they might want a fill and a new scope. Simple common buisness sense.

I don't know the in's and out's But as a rough guess I bet on that £3 they make at least £2. And on the £6 they make at least £5.

Regarding this, You dont think the machines cost thousands to buy? and well thats one of the reaons why you become a member get cheaper bottle fills, 10% off in the cafe thats why i become a member, thats why the price have increased, there is alot more costs than you think . so NO THEY AINT RIP OFF MERCHANTS!!

baring in mind that some bottles can take half an hour to fill yeah the 12 ltr's? so they have to cost of the compresser to start of which electric and wages aswell, so unless people are going work for free how can you only say its a quid?

    Thumbs up

£5 for my 12l 300bar bottle, only £3 if there is over 150 bar in the bottle when filling starts.Afull bottle lasts me a yr as i only need 1700psi for 11.2ftlb any more tha 1700 psi and the hammer does not open the main valve, most of the extra pressure goes out through the blow off valve. All machined by a good mate of mine and fits straight onto the buddy bottle.
