I have sold quite a bit of stuff on there and to be fair not really had any problems, the thing that gets me is the fees, it's just greed, they could charge 1 percent and still bring in millions with the worldwide business they have.
Trouble is though there isn't really a viable alternative that I have found, I have looked at Ebid and thought that they have the right selling model (fees etc.) but whenever I look for an item there it doesn't seem to be there, so until it gets built up more and it will as people look for an alternative we are stuck with accepting it with it's flaws.
Or just don't use it !

i have been on ebay eor 10 years and not really had a big problem yet just some small niggles . you have to send everything recorded signed for to cover yourself. and you can block all bidders from other countries i have so don't get bids from them. don't ever send to italy their postal system stinks . worse than ours. the fees are certainly getting beyond a joke they are just getting greedy .so i don't do much selling any more

I sell things stating pick up only, with the option of sending a bank transfer if they wish for me to ship. Done that twice now on highish value items and not had a problem. My feedback probably reassures them though but it means Im not running the risk of unfair chargebacks or having to pay additional fees.

Depends on their current feedback level when you bought it, if its above 20 yeh they dont get payment untill positive feedback is left.
