I am in a slightly similar position myself with our 13 year old black lab. We used to take long mountain walks for hours but now she struggles to walk far, is really slow and trips a lot. She isn't in pain but the moment she starts to be then i won't let her suffer, it's the best way mate.
I would make the appointment and make a huge fuss of her between now and then :-(

Had exactly the same problem with A growth on a front paw with a family doberman when i was only 15.

Excellent dog, fit otherwise, but simply due to the weight of the dog, couldn't manage with three legs (which would have been the pnly option to remove the tumor) .

    Feel for you fella.

You guys are all right and thanks for the support, I took her to the vets late yesterday and the lump was tested and drained it turns out its only a cyst which they think could of been the reason for her crying in pain, she has cried since which is good, they have gave me some other medication to help her joints etc but repeated to me its as and when i feel enough is enough...
She seems ok this morning, I bought her a new bed yesterday and some toys she seems to be sleeping standing up at the mo !

I will give the Yumove a try and just see how things go. Its a bit sad to admit but I recently lost a family member and dealt with it perfectly but this seems to really be getting in my throat and Im finding it hard to bite on it, if you know what I mean !

Heartbreaking. I had to have my plummer terrier put down back in November. He had cancer and within a week he had gone from being the most mental dog you would have ever met to not even being able to walk up the stairs. Its a horrible decision but if they are in pain its for the best. Take the time you have to enjoy your last moments together.

Right all of those with dogs who are getting stiff and struggling to walk, can just be joint problems, get in contact with Lintbell, get a free sample of Yumove, give 2 a day to dog, you will have enough in their free sample of 30 tablets. They work, trust me. See what happens, it is free so will not cost you anything! Email them, call them, say you have seen the stuff recommended by someone who is using it on one of their dogs.
