This is why i opted to go for the bike the past three years. A car @ 17 would be over 2 grand, my bike fully comp on my full license was 200? And valued at three times the car cost!
Im getting the car out of the way though, and have found LV to be the cheapest for me! Young'uns give it a go.

Mines 1200 , for a 2.0 dti zafira been driving nearly 8 years no claims or owt but I get stung for been diabetic

pissed off mine went up £60 to £330 a year changed to AA for £157 full comp .limited to 5000 miles a year but i ride a bike
but thats £70 a year .price of being over 50 i guess

Im 30, 6 years NCB, no points, no claims etc, Impreza non turbo, up to 8000miles, cheapest quote; £945!
That was spending 6 hours using comparison websites, taking the best 3 quotes, going to their sites directly. The best quote before was £1200.

And its all down to the parasitical, gimme gimme gimme Ive heard a finger, American suing culture that we have adopted. This is causing a large influx in false claims, crash for claims and other scams, especially up here near Bradford which is why I have to pay more.

I think as its a legal requirement it should be capped. Tho insurance tax is a massive contribution to government so no wonder they dont give a toss. They probably claim it all back too...

Insurance companies arent making the profit we think they are. It is the thieving con artists that exploit the claims culture we now have. Until something is done about that then the prices have to keep going up.

To be honest, as above I can see why people drive with no insurance. I live in a tiny town, no speed cameras, no ANPR's a polcie station thats open 10-4 mon-thurs... I may as well bloody stop paying it!!

Only drive to sainsburys up road and to my miss' horses about 10 miles away into even more rural surroundings... Gah.
