It's a bit of a biggy up this end of the country, maybe more so than Xmas. 31st December also happens to be one of my best mate's birthday - he turned 40 today - so, as we're all sensible parent types now, we met up in Dunkeld for a walk, picnic, bit of bubbly and a lunch at a nice hotel in Dunkeld town.

And that's it really this year - for once I'm not working at the bells and there's no party to go to

totally agree andrew, all over hyped, over priced excuse for idiots to practice drinking what they cant handle.

i'll be off too bed soon as i was working today and have been up since 2am, the only drawback is the wife and eldest daughter have gone to there best mates for a new year pee up and ive been told to expect a phone call at 2am to pick them up, great eh!

anyway ive had a really crap day (see new post) and i can only hope 2012 brings better fortune.

    enjoy yourselves anyway.

Na, you're lucky mate. Personally i can't see what all the fuss is about. Yes i had a few and we let some fireworks off, but having to listen to the mrs and co screaming ABBA songs at 2am and demanding you try and dance?
I'll join you in your cave next year or meet me for some midnight night vision shooting
