So..........I only joined last month to sort out a problem I had with an airmagnum. Got that sorted thanks to your help, then I thought I'd refurb my old Blue Streak, which I managed by following links I found here as well.
Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the crack so I decide to hang around, bought a couple of accessories from members to play with, and keep noticing posts about the Crosman 2240.
I've never had hold of one, and I'm quite happy plinking with my Hurricane, but I keep getting drawn back to articles about how good they are and how easy they are to mod.
Now, I took my old car for it's MOT Friday expecting the worst, called in to my local airmonger for a natter, and low and behold, he's got a brand new ratty still in it's box for £70, and I'm absolutely smitten with it.
Went back to the garage full of trepidation, thinking I'm going on a one way trip to the scrap yard, and the bugger has sailed through, no work needed.
I kissed the mechanic (we're old mates), very nearly went straight back to pick up ratty but thought I'd better get clearance from head office first (our lass).
Drove home full of the joys of spring, got back and she's spitting feathers cos the kitchen sink hot tap wont turn off.
No problem says I, it just needs a new washer. Stand aside my dear and I will fix it. One hour later and I still can't get the bloody top off, it's solid.
Never mind she says, we can afford a new set of taps with the money we didn't spend on the car.
Half an hour later and I finally admit defeat, a new set of taps are purchased (which nearly cost as much as ratty), she's happy and I've got a ratty shaped hole in my heart.
Still, it's my birthday next month, and with a bit of luck.......................![]()
