    My bloody boss

SO p*ssed off at my boss. Stupid tart has had a few too many and mouthed off to my colleagues and their partners about me being dishonest when she's talking sh*t.

We had our work do on Friday for Christmas and as usual some who had to travel were treated to a room for the night as it was at a golf club/hotel; others (towards the bottom of the food chain) got a few quid towards a taxi home.

I was given £10 the day before to pay a taxi to get me home as I would be leaving early-ish (my parents were babysitting my 5-month-old daughter at our house).

At about 11pm I phoned my Dad to see if she had been sleeping OK and to say I'd be back in half an hour or so as I was just booking a taxi; he said he'd come and get me to save buggering about. Fine.
First thing Monday morning (I was the first in work as usual) I put the £10 back in petty cash as I hadn't used it.

Today (Wednesday!) I hear that my boss was going round seeing if anyone knew if I had spent the money on a taxi or if they had seen me being getting a lift (obviously implying that I was intending to pocket the money).

Obviously nothing has been mentioned to me but I'm f*cking annoyed that my colleagues, their partners, Company Directors will all have left that night under the impression that I was basically trying to steal the measly £10 when clearly I had no intention of doing that (as I paid it back un-prompted as soon as I could after the party).

Think I might have to have a word later and tell her how unprofessional the whole set up is.

Last bloody works do I'm going to.

Now you've got it off your chest, just ask her the question have you checked the petty cash & walk away.
What ever you do don't loose your job over something like this .......
I’ve just found what I was looking for, it was where I left it …

Ask to speak to her in private, tell her where the money went and then calmly ask her not to question your professionalism and integrity. Hopefully she will stand and wait for the ground to swallow her.

Fair points fellas. I'm not going to jeapordise my job over this, it's just pretty annoying that she's left a lot of people (that I probably won't see for the rest of the year) with the impression that I'm basically dishonest.

    Grrrrrr.

Fair play to you for returning it, you're a better man than I.

I'd have kept it AND got a lift home

AND, asked what their problem was if they kicked off over it.

count yourself lucky, our multi billion national company last year decided that we were not having a do as it was too expensive, this year they say we can have one but we have to pay for our partners, and anything else we want, the most annoying thing is that the management have a separate one every year and they get the lot partners paid for, overnight rooms free bar, taxis etc.

i wouldn't mind but what really p----s me off is that without us they would have no job!

thats a multi billion pound company for you though.
