    ******* young drivers

So here i am driving up the road to call in at the landowner with my shooting buddy , dark unlit road and a car behind me , check the mirror , yep hestill behind me flik the high beam on to check just how far off the gate is and flick the indicator on . 4 or 5 seconds later flick the highs on again not wanting to dazzle the oncoming driver , and start to turn in when wallop , the ******* idiot following me had tried to overtake . bang goes he car , front wing flat to chassis leg , no susspension , no wheel no bugger all from drvers door forward and we grind to a stop on the offside verge . I actually it and watch this other care bounce up the verge onto 2 wheels skim down the hdgerow and come to a stop . Guy gets out of hs car and casually walks towards us saying sorry mate , you ok ? my fault didnt see your indicator till it was to late . *** !!!! , ok stay calm stay stood up in spite of a knee that feels like a mule kicked it and ring insurance , ring old bill and ring for a lift home . A week on the insurance company ring me and tell me now the little oiks insurance is disputing the claim , god how young kids in a rush piss me off so now i have a poxy courtesy car till they settle up for the value of my car , a bad back meaning i cant shoot and a long wait till i get settled up , oh i was turning right if it matters . sorry had to et this out its bugging me to hell .

He admitted fault there and then at the scene. Should be more then enough to get a 100% claim as you have a witness in the car with you there at the time.

Insurance companys that are taking the piss. Don't tar all young drivers with the same brush.

How ever I almost crashed other day as an elderly gent decided to go the wrong way round a round about.

I think you are also to blame. You should check your mirrors before turning. Fortunately you was not turning left and crushed a cyclist.......

I passed my test at 17 and I am still a "young driver" no claims, scraps bumps or anything. Pm me and I'll send you my address so I can receive my medal.

With reference to insurance my view is if its a legal requirement then the price should be capped and bracketed. Or a fixed price.

Always have a camera in your car, even if its the through away type, if not use ya mobile to take picture's .. I had a 12ton lorry hit me side on, same lorry I had been following down the road, noticed his reg was worth a few quid (BBC) his left indecator came on I slowed down, next thing I new, I was being struck by a lorry from the left hand side, WHEN HE GOT OUT OF THE CAB, HE WAS STILL ON HIS MOBILE PHONE he killed my car he could have killed me ... always write down the time of your accident, what was his reg BBC, he had done a u turn on a juction, whilst on a mobile phone .. ask for his, mobile records.

Also he said, I was speeding down the road, in poring rain, an skidded into him 'as he was sat on a juction waiting to turn right, bull **** .. so I went on to archive weather put in the place where he hit me, an it said it had not rained since 5 am that morning, the RTA had taken place at 10.02 am, but where the driver of the lorry's home was in Lester, it had been raining all day .. attention to detail will save you loads of money, hope this helps with your claim

I do generally have a camera in the car and did get some quite good shots of the carnage he caused , i did also check my mirrors , i knew he was behind me but as he wasnt indicating to overtake me i presumed i was good to turn right , lesson 1 never presume i guess 100_1879.jpg , some of you engineering types may have an idea how much force has gone into this oh and the wheel was recovered from 20 yds up the road where it was deposited by the OP`s car

That's a lot of damage. I'd guess the insurance will write it off. Don't accept their first estimate always haggle for more.
