SIGH! Not got out shooting in ages

Sigh! It just occured to me it has now been nearly SIX MONTHS since I last got out on my permission (which is no doubt not my permission anymore).

In that time all I've shot are two rats. in the garden.

My daughter was born in early July (which is obvously amazing news), so I stopped going out shooting a few weeks before as my permission is a little way away from home and I was on call ready to ferry The Music Interrupter to Lincoln Hospital.

I let the farm manager know I wouldn't be out for a bit but that's dragged on as I work 'til 5, get back home about 5:30ish then have an hour with the little lady before we bath her and get her ready for bed. By that point it's 7:00 and too late to be going out really for any meaningful time (I mainly go for woodies so night shooting it a no-no... I used to go out straight from work and have about 3 hours before coming home and collecting TMI from work.

I'll be pretty rusty by the time I ever do get back out, and will have to do have a quiet word about getting my permission back.

Congratulations mate!!! Best days in the word.

I went through a similar stage myself. I didn't go for about 4 months, maybe more when my girl was born (she's now just over 9 months). You don't lose it as much as you'd think! Best thing to do is go and have a walk round, with the dog if you've got one, go see your permission owner and have a mooch round.

Bare in mind, they know you and what you're capable of doing for their pest problem - i'm sure they'd welcome you back with open arms.
