    Bloody insurance companies

Shoguns been off the road for a couple of weeks with a duff power steering pump so seeing as it was time for a change and the fact a 3.5 24v V6 is killing my wallet I got (well in the morning) a 2.5TD Pajero

The bloody insurance company wanted £54 for 10 weeks cover to the end of the policy, now I know an import costs more to insure but I've dropped a couple of engine sizes and have 15 years no claims discount - they wanted £9 extra pro rata for the insurance and a whopping £45 for the admin fees to transfer the policy, I wouldn't mind but they emailed it so they don't even have to pay for a poxy stamp - spat my dummy out and got the £25 broker fee waived so a £29 bill - still not happy
I can't remember ever drawing £100 from the cash point after midnight for anything positive...

Imports are group 20 by default if I remember correctly. Nothing to do with performance, normally because parts, panels etc will be more expensive to get if you damage it.

But yes insurance companies will always shaft you. As I've said a million times, what do you expect to happen when you give money making corporations legal powers.
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.......

not what I remember them to be, I though they were the equivalent group to the UK versions or near as possible plus 10 or 15% loading, depending on where you got the insurance

5 years no claims is the most insurance companies take into account i was told when i renewed my car insurance. As a named driver it makes it cheaper and i asked about no claims protection. The guy on the phone said they on go up to 5yrs and no more and if you have an accident they bump 2yrs off the 5yrs. This was with directline, scammers.

Apparently most insurance company's are doing this now its not just with the car change either, when i got rid of my Mitsubishi carisma 1.8i and bought a polo 1.4i the engine size dropped by 400 cc and the annual premium dropped by 40.00 but the admin fee was 50.00 to change the car on the system, the call centre rep also told me its a good job i had not moved address at the same time because that would of been another 50.00. apparently they are allowed to charge 50.00 per change in your policy.

i will be switching in January to another company as ONE CALL INSURANCE are shite!

I had a Type-R about 2 years ago and paid approx. £900 a year. My girlfriends ex slashed all my tyres (because he's clever like that) and i rang my insurance out of curiosity to see how much it'd be to claim. In the end it would've been about £300 more to go through insurance so my employer kindly paid for 4 new tyres.

Anyway, a couple of months later my renewal came through at £2200. I was staggered! I rang to ask why and they said it was because i'd rang up to enquire about a claim and due to the nature of what had happened, had put me as high risk. Naturally i told them to piss off and said i wasn't going to renew.

In the end i cancelled the policy and got insurance with them again through their website, £200 cheaper than the previous years £900 - all because i was classed as a new customer again and they couldn't use the 'enquiry' against me because technically it shouldn't have gone against me.

We have just stiched up by our boat insurance company for our boat they told Tigger there was no money in the account but Tigger drew some out on the same day so there was money enough there she e-mailed them back saying try again if you have no luck ring us they had my number we receved no call so to our knowlage everything was ok.We receved an e-mail yesterday saying the policy has now lapsed and we are no longer covered and they had the cheek to finish the e-mail with HAPPY BOATING
The only time you should look down on someone is when your helping them up.

bunch of W*%k stains - I wouldn't mind but the running gear/engine/gearbox is the same, UK or Japanese, it only a bit of bling like the chrome bits and the heater matrix is digital, now for a car valued at £1500 any accident i.e panels would be a question of fitting UK parts as they are the same, if the damage went through the the heater matrix I would probably be dead anyway plus the car would be a write off so they would not have to source any so called expensive imported parts due to the car being mashed up, £1500 is £1500 irrespective of wether the car is a UK or import spec - It's a total nonsense, thieving knobjockies

My mates insurance quote doubled because:- he was single, rented his house and it was parked on the road. £1200 for a sixteen year old toyota corolla for a forty two year old, clean license, no claims etc. this was last weekend. They dont know what to charge for something every driver needs.
