One email bulletin board, *********, has dozens of messages from lampers using such sign-ons as "rabbit blaster" swapping tips about where to shoot, and giving details of kills and equipment, including silencers.

Bloody badger baiters should be severly dealt with.

Excellent journalism. Calling all lampers "thugs of the country side" due to one persons opinion. Well here's mine. All journalists are Pricks. Hope that makes tomorrows headlines

Well independent journalists, Do your research better and stop mixing up stories.

Taking quotes from a forum with the words air and gun in the title and mentioning the shooting of foxes and badgers in the same article is stupid.

Not to mention the vast majority of us "BUNNY BLASTERS" on here are responsible shooters, Try giving the bad publicity to the people who deserve it not the rest of us.

Either way a load of ****.

Cant say I have ever seen any illegal lamping, but ime sure there are some uneducated idiots somewhere that do it.
Shot Many 0000's of Rats, Shame very few ever lived long enough to tell the tale of the great rat killer....

More importantly who are they to judge people from their usernames. You have 6 year old kids on Call of Duty called mother f****er and the sorts. Its a shame papers can write drivel these days and they still sell

What a load of confused cod sh!t. I have heard a local farmer say that he had had some poachers on his land lamping in the past year. But they are poachers not just lampers. To call people who hunt with lamps thugs of the countryside? WTF. Idiots. First they ban hunting fox with dogs saying that shooting is more humane. Now the idiots are bleeting on about the shooting of them being thuggish!

unfortunately they write papers with "grabbing" (load of bolloxs) head lines, then people who dont know anything about shooting and the countryside and have only seen bamby will believe it. wouldnt mind if all the facts were right and got both side of the story instead of writting shite !!!!!!!!

I've caught some when I was out bunnying with a mate on his farm. Told them to pack up and feck off before we called the Babylon. The reason for this is that us and our gear (including the silencers) were totally legal and, critically, sanctioned by the police, as both of us are FAC holders and were shooting rimfires that evening. Once again, the responsible, law-abiding shooter takes the rap.

And, lest we forget, journalists are out to sell sensationalism to the metropolitan middle-classes, who tend to be of the opinion that the countryside is some kind of perpetual re-enactment of The Darling Buds Of May, which it isn't. Well, journalists, let me ask this - have you ever eaten meat? If so, you're as culpable for the death of that animal as if you'd lamped it yourself.

Cry me a river, tug on my heartstrings, whatever. Just don't expect me to give one tiny little **** about you and your misinformed, biased, neurotic ramblings.

    Sorry, more:

"Illicit lampers," said Barry Fryer of the RSPCA, "are the thugs of the countryside." Damned right - illicit lampers are thugs, but those of us who shoot within the law are certainly not.

To claim that all lampers are thugs is like saying that all people with a tin of Dulux in their shed are responsible for town-centre graffiti, or that everyone who drives a car is guilty of drink-driving.

That whole article is mis-informed, sentimental, sensationalist crap. The fact that nobody saw that thy'd printed their first paragraph twice makes one seriously question the overall quality of their journalism.

Have to say, though, it's not exactly current news - have just seen the date on the article......
