    Andy Mcnab

Recently read a book by michael asher, about what really happened in Bravo Two Zero.

I know it's interesting to read these special forces books, and I know they use a lot of poetic license but i take them all with a pinch of salt.

But mcnab, and chris ryan, are so full os S**T that its unbelievable.

It's disgusting how they blamed their compromise on That vince phillips bloke.

None of the stuff they made up in their books was talked about in the official debrief according to their RSM Peter ratcliffe.

The nick stone fictional series is still good fun to read, but I wouldn't trust any of the shite he's written in his Supposedly non fiction books.

    Rant over.

andy mcnab or 'Steve Mitchell' as he really is called was blacklisted by the sas. all his former troops in his squad lost respect for him and none of them want nothing to do with him due to the lies and backstabbing he was responsible for. I think one of them actually threatened his life if he ever returned to the barracks but that could be hearsay. However he always likes to be the silouette in the sun newspaper or have his face blacked out when involved with pictures, this all adds to the mystery and the thought of "oh he's not allowed to show his face, because he's ex special forces." well Chris Ryan shows his face everywhere and even made a camero in ultimate force series 1. Andy doesn't like to show his face because he has pissed off a lot of people and doesnt want them knocking on his door, the sun gave him a job with a fancy title of the sun's security expert, they paint him out to be a hero, but he really isn't.

Your completely right. I've got respect for anyone who can pass that sort of selection, but i reckon he's full of shite meself.

And to backstab a fallen comrade who can't answer back is terrible

I've read a few of his books and thought "Brave two Zero " was a great read. At the time I believed it was more or less "as it happened" but obviously some things were embellished to make it look better on print, and this may be because of editorial inputs ? it happens with all authors work..

Maybe McNab should have put a stop to it ? or maybe he's just enjoying the "hero status"

I have great respect for all our special forces, as well as regular troops

Well, sprocker. Consider his book bravo two zero, now consider that there were in fact NO army troops in the area! And not one afghan civilian or armed forces personal were killed or even injured during the whole time they were behind enemy lines.

Now think back to mcnabs book!

i laugh at the apparent 'iraqi mobilized tank column' that attacked them, when it turned out to be some old pensioner on a tracter. Maybe the a-tem modified it?

    It wasn't actually.

It was a beduoin bloke on a bulldozer, that used to be in iraqi special forces, however he had a bad ankle and couldn't run far, and was only firing warning shots at them but they fired back so they had a little fire fight

How come they got caught then and those guys who were killed ? is all that made up ???

I have no idea if it was not all as it seemed, but it was still a good book to read....be it fiction or otherwise
