Not trying to defend him but it is a newspaper report so accuracy can not generally be taken as read, especially in relation to a celebrity.
There are several potential victims in this story, the young man who allegedly got shot (I hope he makes a good recovery), responsible airgun users who are currently worrying about how to secure their weapons from youths, and quite possibly the facts of the incident based on previous News of the World perfomances.
Remember this is the lot who seem to be a bit confused about the rights and wrongs of tapping people's mobile phones. They don't mind who gets damaged by their reporting as long as it is a juicy story that sells their papers.

I have already sent a rather angry enquiry to the Met website and I suggest if people want their voices heard as responsible airgunners they do the same.
I may also talk to the BASC and see if there is anything they can do.
Like I said, the FULL FORCE of the law needs to be bought down on this so called man to show people that gun crime and stupid behaviour will not be tolerated!

Agreed Ian, But I don't think it will do much, even if everyone on this forum does the same, there are still a lot more anti's. I think its the end of unlicensed guns, but its worth a try guys.

As if it wasn't enough publicity for airgunners when those kids in Scotland were shooting people, we now have a "celebrity"(and I use that term VERY loosely) causing ABH with one.....

The pic of the rifle they have used does look like a rimmy to me, but that could be just a stock rifle photo.
On the other hand I hope they test the rifle and it is FAC rated....then see what happens to the docile ****, possession of a class 1 firearm without an FAC (if he doesn't have one), keeping a class 1 firearm loaded and using it in a public place when he "didn't know it was!" + a host of other "personal assault" charges
