Evening all, i need to vent so sorry if i go on
Went to my permission today, the landowners neighbours like the idea of me being there and saw i was there today, however,
i was just about to take a ground feeding woody out at 20 metres and one of them decided to appear in front of my scope shouting "dont shoot dont shoot", for fek sakes, almost nailed the twit in the face,i had a bit of a go at him and reminded him of the agreed rules that he is not to walk into the shooting zone ( i have one area to static shoot from)when i am on the premises and to walk the other route which is safe and announce he was there so i can make safe the rifle and ok him to walk past, he said "sorry" with a sarcastic smarmy grin and walked off, 10 minutes pass and he does it again saying "whoops sorry i forgot!", this time i throw a proper fit, this time the land owner hears my ranting and appears, i apologise to him and explain, he luckily has ago at the neighbour and reminds him i am doing them all a favour in ridding them of the woodies and collard doves and i am doing it for free, with all costs of fuel and ammo being waved, i told him am just happy to have a permission and that is why i do it for free and he said not the point and he will deal with them asap, we agreed i will leave it for a week or so due to almost every time i turn up they seem to upset the birds or park there car in the shooting zone and i end up bagging nowt and in the mean time he said he will make them pay me for my fuel, time and ammo if they dont tow the line (he owns the house they are in), Thankfully he is a great bloke and is very happy with me doing such a good job.

Sounds like a right sac putting you in that situation,good that the owner is backing you up though.

Dont get me wrong, i'm extatic to have the permision, and i am more than happy to chat with all and sundry on the land, i am just peeved he jumped in front of the rifle as i was about to take the shot shouting dont shoot, made me jump, just lucky i didnt pull the trigger, then he walked in front 10 mins later.

I dont think he realises the effect a .177 would have on him, really lucky the landowner is a top bloke though

I agree with mrking by being happy to have the permission, but, seriously the press says the shooter is stupid, no, the idiots around them, standing in front of a gun when its obvious your about to take the shot, just have a civilized conversation with him, in doors, and just tell him how stupid hes being. (but in a more polite way)

Yeah i'm very happy having it, I explained to him the first time and he didnt seem to grasp what he had done, the second time i flipped, i know i shouldnt have but the thought of hitting him with a pellet was just nasty, the landowners going to do the sit down and chat thing to explain how stupid and dangerous he was being, i'll apologise to him for ranting when i see him and leave it at that as theres no point going on.

Attach a small video camera to the rifle and if you do shoot him then you can show he put himself there.

I hate annoying 'pop up' people, ive had several in my time! and i nearly nailed a dog once! that scared me! i love dogs and that would have upset me!
